He has not been the best 3B in the NL. Machado and Arenado have a higher WAR than him.

WAR is for nerds.
Also, Riley was just named NL Player of The Week. Hitting .448 (13-for-29) with three doubles, three home runs and a 1.346 OPS. His eight RBIs were tied for the most by an NL player, and his .862 slugging percentage was third best on the Senior Circuit.
He was snubbed. Period.

The season is longer than a week. Riley is great but it’s hard to say he’s having a better year than Machado right now by any measure. Arenado and him are close. He’s going to get in as a replacement regardless

He had a great week for sure.

Machado is head and shoulders ahead of anyone else this season. Riley has been awesome. Machado is probably the first half NL MVP.

Yeah I would think it’s him or Goldschmidt right now

Seiya Suzuki, Cody Bellinger, Willy Adames, Rowdy Tellez, Francisco Lindor, Brendan Rodgers, Hunter Greene, Freddie Freeman, and Rhys Hoskins have also won NL Player of the Week awards this season... should they all be added to the roster?
Interestingly enough, all 6 Player of the Month winners are on the team.
That said, Riley will definitely be one of the first in line when the inevitable need for a sub arises.

It figures the biggest retard on the board has a "statistics are stupid" type opinion

All Star Selections are based on the entire first half of the season, but if you'd like to host an All-Star game for just last week I guess you can feel free to.

And every GM who cares about winning. I don't care what he did last week. He hasn't played at the same level as Arenado and Machado.

When Riley is in the heat of the MVP race in September, remember this conversation.
And yeah, WAR is for nerds

Now him probably being an mvp candidate means he had a better first half than Arenado and Machado apparently lmfao. Sound logic per usual
Posted on 7/11/22 at 3:23 pm to SteelerBravesDawg
Like Riley was top 3 last year, right?
Posted on 7/11/22 at 3:56 pm to SteelerBravesDawg
Maybe if he hits .400 the rest of the season. He's got a lot of catching up to do.

Man there are some dog shite series early half of this week. Thank goodness for Braves/Mets
Cards/Dodgers starting tomorrow should be good I suppose

If you’re a Dodgers fan. The Cardinals are pretty bad. It’s sad how Goldy and Arenado get on base pretty much every time up, but they still don’t score a whole lot.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today. He relays that the Rox are shopping reliever Alex Colome and starter Chad Kuhl, but not closer Daniel Bard. Despite Bard’s impending free agency, the Rockies will apparently try to extend him in the coming weeks instead of working on a trade.
Apparently the Pirates have rejected some offers for Bedar and Reynolds so far. I'm doubting they even make a move

Cardinals lineup has been in a rut for awhile. It was an ugly week.
Posted on 7/11/22 at 7:23 pm to CRDNLSCHMCPSN11
Yeah we have triple A guys not by choice in the lineup.
We need Yadi and O'Neill back at minimum but of course O'Neill gets hit in the wrist/hand his final tune up game.
Still no word on Bader.
