They will get full pro rated salaries and who knows what they will get after they file their grievance

They’ll judge shop to David Doty, or should. But Tony Clark isn’t that smart. They won’t win their grievance either.
Just like they lost the Bryant case and will lose the Pirate case.

If 48 game season, teams should just play opponents in their own divisions.
12 games (6 home, 6 away) against each of your divisional opponents.
I'm sort of with you that such a short season very much delegitimizes the season. HOWEVER, I think that doing it this way would help to make it somewhat legitimate by getting a deserving champ from each division.

Whatever kind of season they play this year is going to be the baseball equivalent of the Belk Bowl.

MLB is a dead business. When they say it is America’s past time they are dead right it is past it’s time.

48 games. 10 games against each division opponent. 4 games against 2 other opponents.

There will have to be some sort of interleague play just by the simple fact that each division and each league has an odd number of teams. That’s how we have the current mess of interleague play everyday once the Astros were forced to move to the AL to give each league 15 teams.
Unless 2 teams are given a series off for each set of series in the league, there will be some sort of interleague play. Given the time constraints, I don’t see that happening nor should it.

Just curious, anyway they could just lock the union out and play an 80+ game schedule with replacement players? Obviously it would be a huge mess but just getting baseball on tv with people who actually WANT to play...i know I’d watch it.

They don’t need to lock them out. MLB can set a date and go. It’s then up to the players association if they want to play. If they refuse it’s a strike and you bring in scabs. Clark will be in serious trouble then because his union will be split.
The union is going to get smoked as they don’t have Fehr or Glavine this time.

If it meant I could see a game in Wrigley this year, I’d be all for it.... If not, I don’t want to watch scrubs on tv.

It’s your precious owners who don’t want an 80 game season.
Well let me rephrase that. They want 80 games they just only want to pay for 50 of them.

Baseball is dead, I've already petitioned for Chicken to open up some Cricket the logos as that is now my favorite sport

ster Olney Retweeted Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN The circus that could emerge, if MLB aims to implement a short season, could make the Replacement Player spring of '95 look like a buttoned-down military operation, by comparison. The current context demands collaboration to have a chance to make this work.
If you only play 48 games, I imagine a lot of players just won’t play. Especially those in contract years. A lot of pitchers probably don’t want to risk an abbreviated spring for just 8 or 9 starts. And they’ll use the excuse they don’t feel “safe”.

Yeah, because Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Schwarber, Lester, etc.. are all scrubs

Nut up or shut up time for the "just tell us when and where to play" narrative.

Running list of players who probably won't play? Sean Dolittle, Max Scherzer, Mike Trout, Alex Bregman......
