Randomly ended up watching Ken Burns 6th Inning on MLBN tonight

I recorded them on VHS originally on PBS and own the DVDs now

But watching it tonight, it struck me just how inspiring Jackie Robinson is, and how I should respect Dodgers fans, if for nothing else, the fact that they made the game what it is today

I would invite the downvoter on this post to contact me in some way

I t doesn’t really matter to me that you oppose my point of view.

I would truly appreciate the opportunity to explain to you why I feel the way I do

Baseball is so much more than a sport

Star Tribune’s LaVelle E. Neal III added more information about the Twins’ interest in both Correa and Bogaerts.

“If they (the Twins) are going to play this game, they’ve got to play it under Scott Boras’ terms,” Neal said. “And Boras plays this thing out until February or March. And can the Twins afford to wait that long with other things they want to achieve during the offseason to see if they can get one or the other? And yes, they are going after Correa. And I was told that Bogaerts will be the backup plan if they can’t get Correa. They’re offering him (Correa) different deals to see what he would like. It’s like 10 years at a certain AAV (average annual value). I think eight years at another certain AAV. And then a six-year deal, which of course would have the highest AAV, which would be over $30 million a year.”

I want him in the Astros opposing lineup as many times as possible

I think he's due to bounce back and wouldn't mind him on the Astros at a really cheap price..I don't think he necessarily will be MVP level again but he finally played a full healthy year last year after injury plagued season the year before and then covid the year before that..plus his BABIP was .255 for the season, pretty low. He needs an off season to get stronger now that he is healthy.

Word is Dodgers are meeting with Justin Verlander today. Would fit their preference for big talents on short-term deals (with of course very high AAV). Both NY teams interested and of course incumbent Astros.

Hearing the Astros' deal with José Abreu is expected to be around $60 million.

I was interested in him, but 3/60 is too steep. He should fit in well with the Astros though.

Abreu deal pretty much means JV is off the table. I'm fine with that. Astros SP depth might be best in baseball, and when JV's won only one game, a shaky start at that, we don't need him.

This frees up monies to hopefully get Brantley back.

Bregman, Brantley, and Abreu in the same lineup. Probably more combined QABs than the rest of the Top 10 in baseball combined

The speculation among agents who don't represent Xander Bogaerts is that he's going to do very well, given that he's coveted by a lot of teams -- and they're predicting a final deal total that'll be many tens of millions of dollars more than the final Red Sox offer in the spring.
