This is on MLB Trade Rumors
quote:
The players — who get to keep their original bonuses but cannot be represented by the agents that negotiated their original contracts — will be subject to international signing pool restrictions but are otherwise free to sign with any organization.
MLB teams will be allowed a fresh $200K of bonus pool space to work with to sign any of these prospects. They may elect to draw from either their current signing period pool allocation or that of the 2018-19 period (but not both).
All MLB teams but the Braves can sign the prospects between December 5th of this year and January 15th of the next. Any players that do not sign within that period will no longer be eligible to receive a signing bonus. The Braves are eligible to pursue any still-unsigned prospects (without a bonus offer) beginning on May 1, 2018.

Most of the articles I'm reading have the Yankees as the favorite to land Ohtani.

Yeah not sure where he would play, Judge, Frazier, Gardner, Hick in the OF he wants to pitch and hit so maybe DH some?

SP and DH are the predictions.

Really curious how he transitions...

Kinda crazy that Jeter and them are already looking for more investors for the Marlins

I have this extremely nasty feeling the Sox are going to end up with Hosmer.
I want Carlos and maybe Duda.

Well you could end up with Stanton.... Hosmer and Lynn to the Sox

I wouldn't mind giving them Bradley Jr. and a prospect for Stanton. Honestly, I think all of us are going to be supremely underwhelmed by what Stanton brings back. That contract is BANANAS.

I think he brings back a decent return. I just don't think there is a big market for him outside of the 3-5 teams we keep hearing about and next years FA class overshadowing it.

Rangers are signing Fister to a major league deal.
1-year, $4 mil w/ a club option.
Lance Lynn is still on the radar along with Alex Cobb.

Things I've read, and these are of course just rumors, are saying that he wants guarantees to DH when he doesn't pitch.
Otani is also asking for all teams chasing him for written explanations as to why he should sign with them.

Fister used to be a damn good pitcher. I dunno what happened to him.

Velocity went up last year shockingly, he started badly though. It's a decent deal, especially for the terms.
Texas needs rotation arms badly so I approve.

They are a poor ownership, they barely could meet the asking price.
in next 2 years, they will be a scrub veteran and AAA prospect team. Marlins will always lose cash, ZERO fanbase who gives a shite.

So earlier today morosi said that Stanton gave the Marlins his list of acceptable teams. He only said the Dodgers were on it and that they were his top choice and he wants to see what happens there first but that's not going not happen so I'm interested in who else is on his list
Apparently he has not vetoed a trade yet

I think he goes to a West Coast team.

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch explains that if the two sides get close to a deal, the Marlins could grant the Cardinals an exclusive negotiation window of roughly 48 to 72 hours to make a pitch directly to Stanton. While MLB clubs are typically forbidden from talking to players that are under contract with another team, Goold confirmed with MLB officials that the Marlins could designate a window to “convince a player to waive his no-trade (clause) without contract modification.”
