Miami could end up in better shape by playing hardball and keeping him.

They will get much more in return for Ozuna,Yelich,Gordon, etc in deals, and end up 10-20mil in the black from dealing the players.

They still have their star player, a draw, and they shed salary and replenish with prospects. They retool, and don't give Stanton away. And he is forced to go through another retool process, and can't do a thing about it.

The club option for 2020 is worth $5.5 million with a $1 million buyout. The deal is pending a physical.

Rangers sign Anthony Gose to a MILB deal. He will pitch and play in the outfield.

Yesterday Jon Morosi reported that the Giants would be willing to take on nearly all of Giancarlo Stanton‘s contract in exchange for the Marlins’ slugger. Today Morosi reports what the Marlins would accept in return.

Giancarlo Stanton trade development: Source says #Marlins likely would accept offer of Panik, Beede and Shaw for Stanton alone -- if #SFGiants committed to paying at least $250 million of the $295 million left on Stanton’s contract. @MLB @MLBNetwork

That's what he said. I bet the giants do that. All depends on Stanton wanting to play there

No. Not top 100 guys. Not even their top 2 prospects.

Definitely not 65 power.

Fangraphs has his raw power at 60 and game power at 50

mlb.com has his power at 60.

If he had 65 power, he probably would be a top prospect, something he isnt.

Or we could go with mor facts

As a 23 year old, was called up to AAA halfway through the season to a hitters park in Sacramento

K%-29.4%(6.4% higher than any other level)
BB%-5.6%(2.2% lower than any other level)
BABIP-.367(34 points higher than at any other level)

Yes, he had more power than at any other level. More HR, higher ISO, higher SLG, but he also played in a hitter friendly environment.

His long swing is going to keep him from having a high average, and will definitely strike out a lot.

So we could be talking about a guy that sits somewhere around a .240-.250 average, possibly could hit 30 home runs, no value on the base paths, and little to no value defensively at first.

If we are looking at a comparison, thats probably a slightly faster version of Matt Adams, and the Braves are trying to give him away to someone this offseason.

I didn’t know the Braves already soured on Adams. I guess he doesn’t have a spot since Freeman is back.

The Braves finally has a GM that said to himself "Hey, we've got a crap ton of young pitchers about to come up, maybe we should actually have a defense behind him."

Adams has no spot. He's probably the worst defender in the league in LF. Freeman is at 1st, and that stupid experiment with Freeman at 3rd is thankfully over.

Adams is going to cost around 4.5 million this year, and we really dont want someone from the bench that can only play first.

And some Cardinals fans were tearing Mozeliak apart for trading him last year. Hopefully, he gets traded to someone that will let him play every day.

He's not that special, but he is good enough to split time between 1st and DH for an AL team. Someone like Minnesota, Tampa, or Kansas City would work.
