On any given roster, but especially the lower division ones like single-A, there's basically only a handful of guys that are real MLB prospects.

Every MLB prospect starts in A ball. There’s more than a handful

Yes, most rookie, short season A, and low A guys don’t make the majors. Most 10 year old kids that go to those games don’t realize that nor do they care.

Greed ruins everything. I despise Rob Manfred.

There are plenty of short A guys that make the majors. It’s the first stop for college guys after they’re drafted.

True, but most short A guys don’t. My point was that the people that go to go those games don’t go to see future major leaguers they go for the $8 ticket and the fun of it, like I do. If a guy makes it, it’s a bonus.

Baseball has too many development leagues, like 500% too many.

it’s marketed to 10 year old kids and their mamas.

Which makes it hard to market to adult males who don’t have kids. After my first trip to the Box I never went to another Babycakes game

Sources: David Price will pay out of his money $ 1,000 during the month of June to each minor league player in Dodgers system (40-man roster not included) according to multiple sources. Beautiful act if we count that Price hasn't played yet in MLB with @Dodgers RESPECT.

What part are you disagreeing with? You can be a once in a hundred generations level player, but if it’s in a sport no one gives a shite about anymore, you aren’t worth big money.

Why do people keep going with the fiction baseball is in trouble? Baseball revenues are strong. Financially, baseball's long term prospects are much healthier than the NBA's. Baseball doesn't rely near as much as the NBA does on big national network contracts. And when these next round of contracts for the NBA go down as expected, it's not baseball that will be scrambling.

What annoys me a lot about the possible MLB lockout is that the players don’t want to play because they might get a slight pay decrease. They already make hundreds of millions of dollars. Meanwhile their fellow players in the minors make minimum wage and they don’t do anything to help them out.

400 a week is more than they make until AAA (or was when I played). We figured out we made less than if we worked the same hours on a 5.75 minimum wage
Only get paid in season, too

I've only read a couple of the lists (Orioles, Mets), but the biggest name I saw was Nick Rumbelow being cut by the Mets.

I'm anxious to see more of the names come out.
