I stlll think until you eliminate the inherent advantages teams like the Dodgers and Yankees have from a spending standpoint it will not thrive so some sort of salary cap or ways to allow all the teams to compete will be what's needed to sustain it

I'm not a huge fan of batting average in the 21st century, I prefer OPS which is not some weird stat, it's just on base percentage and slugging average which have been around for generations.
OPS prioritizes hitting the ball hard which doesn't necessarily mean hit it over the fence (people like Ichiro and Rod Carew didn't just bloop singles they hit the ball friggin' hard, lots of doubles and triples in the gap) and getting on base and not making outs, instead of just "getting a hit."
But I understand what you're saying in that offenses just suck this year.

You're missing the point.
You don't need a lineup of 1-9 that are either hitting homers/doubles or striking out. Some are good at that, and some are not. I just showed you the typical leadoff guy can have just as much or more impact to winning than the swing for the fences guy.
And Kyle Schwarber's best season for WAR has been this year, at 2.8.
Arraez has had two seasons over 4.
Is WAR important or not, b/c i honestly have no idea?
DJ Lemehieu has had one season where he hit over 15 homers. He's had 6 seasons with a higher WAR than Schwarber's highest of 2.8 this year.
Everyone is being taught to swing the same exact way and be the same hitter. Some are a lot better at it than others. The kid growing up that might be the next Ichiro or Ricky Henderson will never exist b/c no one is teaching him how to hit like that, even though his swing and game may be more catered to that type of hitter. Almost every youth hitting coach is going to teach the exact same thing, and try to change every kids swing to try to hit line drives to the gap, not that that is a bad thing to want to do.

Rickey could drive the ball. He hit nearly 300 home runs and over 500 doubles along with all the steals.
If I could choose one player from history to start my imaginary team with, it would be Rickey, not because he was the GOAT but because he could beat your arse so many different ways.

Bonds
Pujols, A-Rod. Junior, frank Thomas, Manny, Sosa, Albert Belle, Juan Gonzalez, Galaraga, Miggy, Nelson Cruz, Judge, JD Martinez, are all guys that have done it multiple times.

So multiple guys over multiple different years? Ok
Judge is doing it this year
Ohtani probably will as well
Acuna did it last year
Mookie last year as well
Wow. Looks like it's still happening

Jd Martinez was like 5 years ago, not back in the day. Also ironically the player probably most responsible for the emphasis on launch angle

Right after the 1994 strike 29M watched World Series. Most recent World Series just over 9M

12 guys did it in 1996 alone. Steroid era, but still…

You having trouble reading or something. I literally listed them from just the AL in 1996.
here get a subscription to Statmuse and they'll give you the full list.

a different metric here but somewhat similar:
almost 200 guys have hit 30 homers, hit .300 and driven in 100rbi's in a season.
28 of those guys have done it since 2010, and of those 28 more than half of them were playing high school baseball in the 90's.
I'm not counting them all to find out, but it looks like a good portion, as in 2/3rds of these have happen in the last 30-40 years, with your obvious Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Hank Aaron, WIllie Mays, Stan Musual, Mel Ott, Dimagio, Ted Williams, etc guys being the exception.

Damn that is crazy, only 9.1M viewership.
The women's college basketball title game doubled that. Insane.

The NFL has virtually no payroll discrepancy and less overall parity than MLB.
Thats because they play two very different sports. In the NFL, the QB position will make all the difference in the world. There is nothing comparable in MLB.

It's just a ridiculous suggestion.
Baseball is known as a meat-grinder of a season. Why mess with it?
