On the opposite side of the punishment thing, what are Stros fans thoughts on the extra picks and bonus pool yall now have?

Can only be excited about Luhnow and Co. getting more draft picks. And the bonus pool could help if theres a well regarded prospect with signability concerns.

Now that the Cardinals have about $2MM to spend on the whole draft, I'm hoping they draft a bunch of LSU's signees.

Astros, stay away from them.

Sadly, the signees I'm worried about will be off the board by the time the Cardinals even have their first pick though.

Should have been worse.

Do you know what the offense was, and who in the organization did it?

The punishment is fair, bordering on more than fair.

The Cardinals went wild in the international signing period this year in anticipation of losing draft picks.

They also STOLE SS Delvin Perez late in round 1 last year, he was projected a top 3 pick -- fell after a drug test failure.

They are stocked and loaded in the minors.

2 million will be made up in beer sales by April 6th.

If there was a year they could afford to not draft, this would be the year.

I can honestly say, this dude has me so hyped. He's gonna be elite.

And agree, minors is stacked, like always.

Law has you ranked 13th in the majors behind Pit, Mil, and Cincy in your own division.

I can't speak to where we're ranked by the various entities, but they did spend more in the international market this past year to beef up the low minors in anticipation of not being able to participate as heavily in the draft and potentially in the international market in upcoming years.

The next big wave of talent from on the pitching side was in Peoria (low A) last season, with a few 2016 college draftees on the complex team. The hitting talent, aside from Harrison Bader, was either on the complex team or in short A.

Having most of the best prospects that low in the system will typically knock you down in the rankings as they are farther from the majors and carry so much more risk.

I think the punishment is bullshite.

These were the singular actions of one man to bolster what he was doing and make himself look better.

He didn't share that he had access to this information, he simply used the information to present as his own.

Why was he allowed to do that? Because lunhow gave him the keys and never revamped the program he was using.

The punishment should be used to correct issues or prevent something from happening in the future. Do you think correa is sitting in jail saying damn, if the cardinals only stripped of 2 picks, this will be totally worth it? I don't think so.

Just seems off base

Da fuq?

The punishment is bullshite, but that's the least of the cardinals worries with their over the hill prime and their terrible manager.
