The Yankees led MLB in walk percentage last year. The Dodgers were third. They played each other in the World Series

He doesn't have that much power the ISO stat is just trash (and impacted by his love of walks)

He's never hit 50 HRs and his double tally is worse then noted hall of famer Lyle Overbay. Dude is the most overrated player in sports and got lucky that he came around during the time that the MLB decided to ruin itself with garbage tier advanced stats

He is not a HOF lock with those stats.

Three MVPs, four time runner-up. Trout was the best player of the 2010s. Even if you don't believe he was, the only players who could lay claim to that are sure-fire HOFers.

I mean...Jesus Christ "not a HOF lock."

Led the majors in WAR for 5 consecutive seasons. 5!

Then the next 3 years he lead the league in OBP and OPS

Dinging him for the Angels’ lack of success is absurd. He did everything humanly possible for a player to do. If he played in a loaded lineup that constantly put the pressure on pitchers his numbers would be even better

1st ballot

Is he supposed to take home run cuts on balls?

No doubt. And a time where the talent was depressed and baseball needed a “star.”

Ted Williams says “Hey.” He was called a selfish player in his day because he would not give in to a pitcher and swing at anything that wasn’t a strike and he walked in 21% of his plate appearances during his career. I call him the GOAT hitter.

Mike Trout is the same level of talent as Jordan with none of the drive and competitiveness.

People ask what Jordan's career look like if he wasn't so intense and competitive:

Mike Trout.

Maybe

But basketball is far less dependent on the rest of the team than baseball is. One player can drag you deep into playoffs in the NBA.
