"I read something the other day [that said] sure James Harden should be the MVP, sure Chris Paul and James have been great, sure they set a franchise record [for wins by] about six games' worth, but they'll ultimately be judged by if they win a championship or not," D'Antoni said before pausing. "Really? It doesn't diminish what these guys have done."

Already building a narrative for a potential choke job. With all the injuries and all the teams tanking thus boosting Rox to 1 seed if they don't at least make the Finals it'll be a big disappointment.

D'Antoni already appealing to the casual Rox fan with building up meaningless regular season achievements.

Smart move. Get out in front of it so when the choke inevitably happens it'll soften the blow.

I'm sure it would be a little disappointing, but almost no one gave them a chance to make the Finals going into the season. I find it hard to consider it a big disappointment if the Warriors find good form and end up beating the Rockets, like most people expect to happen.

Kind of like a marriage can be cherished without sex?

Before the season, sure, but now we know what they are. Anything but a conference championship would be a disappointment at this point.

He’s just taking time to enjoy the process. He’ll probably live longer than some of you uptight MFs.

Steph won't be 100% even when he comes back. I think he or a team rep said he won't be 100% until the offseason. Rox won the season series against warriors as well.

And if 3-8 is really as bad as some Rox bros make it out to be the Rox have got to take advantage now.

I guarantee Chris and James harden will view the season as a disappointment if they don't make it out of the west.

I am curious to see if he is able to get over the hump this year. Post season performances have been by far his biggest criticism as a coach.

Glad you threw in "as a coach," because I wasn't sure if you were talking about D'Antoni or James Harden until that point.

Mike is right. He knows that life is about the journey. Not the destination. This is why guys like Dame Lillard say he would rather not win a title at all than have to leave and form a super team. It’s not all about the title. If it was we would want Lebron in Houston next year. but like Lebron in Houston and Lillard leaving to make a super the title wouldn’t mean as much bc the journey to get it would be meh.

Golden boys will be lucky to win 2 in first round.
They were crushed by jazz in last loss. Still throwing ball away like 6th graders, going for crowd pleasing show over substance. No look, right to defender.
