That's not how it's gonna to work. Anything over $600 has to be reported. You get caught paying underneath the table it will be just like old days
Deals made before the settlement is finalized (scheduled for April but may be longer) are not subject to the clearinghouse. Only deals with "affiliated individuals or entities" will be reviewed. And as long as they are deemed to be for FMV (however that is ultimately determined), they're still okay even then.

Perhaps if you would have spent the time to Google those articles before you started this thread you would understand the difference between revenue shares and NIL.

I'd be shocked if you knew how making a grilled cheese works. Now you are trying to explain NIL, after you've already shown you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

I’m sure once they put a cap on NIL that nobody will cheat and go over the agreed limit …..

Revenue sharing is not the same as NIL, they're apples and persimmons, but the courts can toss out an act of Congress that restrains trade as they certainly would with anything that seeks to restrain NIL.

The NIL genie is not going back into the bottle, no matter how many fans bitch on message boards.

The focus should be on reining in the current Wild West landscape of the portal.

Lsu isn't the 1st or last school to do so. Move on. Before the internet age, I swear Baton Rouge was going to fall on swords and jump off the I-10 bridge when Booty passed and took the money to play baseball. I've always said when the recruiting was going on, "I'll believe ot when he signs." There are too many variables and late night scumbag deals taking place.

Nice pivot. So I guess we can agree it's stupid as hell to say you're glad the number 1 QB passed us up? That's so fricking stupid and disingenuous, if not a flat out lie.

Serious question..

Underwood got $12M.

That’s a lot, but shite if it works it works.

My question is, how big a win is it that Alabama got someone like Russell for….I’m assuming way less?

I’m still trying to figure out how Alabama didn’t lose Russell after Underwood secured the bag. He’s SURELY worth $6-7M if Underwood got $12M, no?

Did Russell not test the market? Did Alabama offer him Saban money from jump street?

Are they not going to implement this in a way where they grandfather in existing deals? Seems like a no brainer but this is the NCAA and congress we are talking about
Why would existing NIL deals need to be grandfathered?

The schools are not a party to the contract with the existing NIL system. Those deals are between the player and a 3rd party collective or business. So none of that counts against the limits of what the schools have to pay players directly with the new changes coming.

See, you are part of the problem. Let me know when LSU has won the title with the #1 qb recruit in the country. One player doesn't define championships. Like I said, you'll thank me later, when that kid realizes other schools have D-1 players on scholarship too. He lit up Grace King and Ridgewood prep defenses in HS. If it makes you feel better, who's to know Harlem Berry will be anything. St Martin's HS? Please. A bunch of preppy slow white kids was his competition. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY knows how some 18 year old will react playing in front of 100k fans, when they are used to 200 screaming den mothers at Muss Bertolino, or Jefferson Playground. It's a total crap shoot.

NIL payments can't be capped as the schools are not making the NIL payments.

NIL and the profit sharing are two different things.

Your position on this is so stupid it's not even worth having a back and forth with you about it.

Yes, let's not get any #1 recruits because they are unproven in college, like every single other high school recruit.

Let's just be thankful the coaches aren't as dumb as you in their approach to recruiting.

The amount is not the problem here. It’s having 18 year old unproven kids in a bidding war for their services..

As many people have pointed out, Underwood's $12M NIL deal is not directly related to his revenue sharing agreement with Michigan. Two entirely different buckets of money.

So with House and NCAA deal on horizon with a 20-22million dollar cap per year for nil payments.
