Beginning of the end. Can’t wait for guys to hold out for more money when they have one breakout season.

Miami’s basically got a billionaire donor acting as GM for their entire athletic department now. Here’s what he had to say. Straight up ridiculous that the NCAA let it get to this point.

quote:

"Isaiah is under contract," billionaire John Ruiz told ESPN. "He has been treated by LifeWallet exceptionally well. If that is what he decides, I wish him well, however, I DO NOT renegotiate! Surprises me because there are so many players that would love to play for the U!"

I don’t think this is how NIL was supposed to work

But anyone who isn't a complete fricking moron knew this is exactly how it was going to go

What's kind of entertaining is how it went from "you can make money off your NIL" to players expecting the school to guarantee them a certain amount of money.

I thought we wanted this? We were supposed to feel bad these kids couldn’t get meals on the weekends. These poor kids, and their families, stuck with some shitty free education.

Guys doing stuff like this is gonna make NCAA completely disband NIL, imo.

Can't wait for one of these dipshits to get sued by a Booster/NIL company for breach of contract.

If you want to curb transfers... Make them sign the docs.

They can't... That's the entire reason they lost the SCOTUS case.

Probably whatever school came in just under Miami's 800K bid for Nijel Pack. What he said ain't new, he just said it out loud.

Kids these days

This shite will only make them worse

A huge part of why it will fail is simply that 19-20 year old kids can't handle this kind of money or power. They've been given the reigns to the sport, and they aren't capable of driving it.

These NIL deals will eventually turn into the equivalent of signing contracts.

You get the deal if you finish here. If you leave, you lose the deal.

Gotta start regulating this. It is already out of hand barely a year out.
