not if the conference sucks

If FSU has one loss this year they don't get in.

2 loss conference champs from anywhere other than the SEC will not get in over one loss champs.

he committee just made it abundantly clear to the Big 12 that championship games matter!

No they didn't. If anything they are making a push for tougher OOC.

Nippert is a fricking shite hole

And I think it only seats 30k which is too small for P5 standards

Nippert will seat 41k once renovated.

Iowa St - 55k
Kansas St - 50k
TCU - 45K
Baylor - 50k
Kansas - 50k

Big 12 stadiums basically suck. Saying Nippert isnt good enough is ridiculous.

it a rent a win. it's not a bye.

i will say this... no way those games helped those teams in the eyes of the committee.

bye weeks might be better than playing certain teams in nonconference

or else make all the FBS-FCS games officially exhibitions and go back to 11 game schedules

Stupid and dumb is hiring June Jones for a ridiculous amount of money.

Smart is hiring a coach who thrived at a similar school, without the inherent recruiting advantages, in a state where high schools run his offense en masse. And Leach wouldn't use UH as a stepping stone like Sumlin and Briles.

its a completely different discussion and has nothing to do with the Big 12 getting 3 byes. Big 12 schools schedule rent a wins as well. Let' stop clouding the issue. No school should be allowed 3 byes when others are allowed 2.

Imagine if the NFC South got 2 byes and the rest of the NFL didnt.

Stupid for hiring Jones, no. Giving him the extension yes. I like revisionist history of yours.

But Leach has proven the last 2 years he just does not care anymore. Watch Wazzu and tell me where he is leading them? They are in worse shape now than when he got there.

Well that's not true at all.

Put him in a more appropriate situation and he could thrive. I'll trust his body of work.

His body of work of being insubordinate, job hunting, and not fielding great teams?

He was so mediocre and insubordinate that he was at Tech for a decade, had an unprecedented run of success (including actually having them in the NC hunt one year), and is still a god to most Tech fans.

A god to Tech fans? No he isn't. They rever Spike Dykes more than Leach. Leach caught lightning in a bottle got to play 2 big games at home that year. What is telling about the perception of Leach was that none of his former assistants, co-coaches, or players came to his defense during the James fiasco. Then his stupid arse did not expect to get fired for suing his employer.

Because he throws the ball every down does not make for him to be a great coach.

Expectations at Tech are between none and we can go bowling. They know they aren't a big fish and know they never will be.

he was "insubordinate" at Tech b/c Craig James and his shithead son were flat out LYING about locking him in a dark closet with a concussion.

99.9% of all HCs would tell their AD to frick off if a player and his helicopter daddy were making up bullshite b/c they were pissed the kid wasn't getting any PT.

no, they do not revere Mr 6-6 Spike Dykes more than Leach

I'm not just talking about the James incident. When you go read the cause Tech listed several other reasons also.

The James incident is THE thing that got him canned though. That really can't be denied.

Disagree there. What got him fired was him suing. They had suspended him with pay and were investigating it. They asked him to apologize, he refused. Then they said okay you want to go there, here is our cause, which we do not need, and there is the door.

Now I think it sped up the firing though. I think Meyers and the President were already getting ready to get rid of him, and that incident made it impossible to keep him. His act had grown tired and they were wanting to move on.

As to you saying there was a former pllayer/coach, you are wrong, they came out after the mess.

They love Dykes because he was a Red Raider guy. The Hanspard thing took luster off of him, but you and I both know that Tech is a strange strange place. It has no history and no success.

It's not just about athletics. They aren't attractive to bigger conferences.
