Prime's super athletic son

Given who his father is he's really not THAT athletic. He's probably just slightly above average for the position which makes his performance that more impressive IMO

I’ll make an assessment after he plays Oregon and USC. He could lose both and still put on a show. I just want to see him up against better competition. I do think he’s very good tho.

He's been really good on a team that was 75% new this year and he came from a hbcu. He is short though so that's a knock but the NFL has been looking passed that more and more.

About the only criticisms I have for what I've seen against TCU and Nebraska is sometimes he holds on to the ball too long. I know CU's OL isn't the greatest but some of those sacks this past weekend he's had time. And sometimes when there's no one open, instead of throwing it away he runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage and that left me scratching my head a bit. He did it multiple times in both games. Just seems kind of weird for someone that actually does a good job keeping his eyes downfield while scrambling from the rush, maybe he just doesn't want to deflate his completion percentage with a throwaway

Sanders has accomplished more as a passer in 2 games than Richardson did in 2 years.

Kiper said Johnny Manziel should have gone number one in 2014 so lets pump the brakes on what this "draft guru" says. Especially 2 games into the season

Also:

"Kiper declared that if Clausen, a former top recruit and star at Notre Dame who fell to the second round of the NFL draft, was not a successful NFL quarterback within seven years, he would retire"

Deion should be facing charges for making him and Hunter waste time playing in the SWAC

What an unbelievably stupid comment

Hunter could have gone anywhere and been a successful DB, but maybe Shedeur developed better in this system and with these coaches?

I'll definitely admit I didn't see it coming how good he is

I thought he was just Prime's super athletic son that wanted to play some football for his dad, not the Heisman frontrunner

I knew he was a four star QB coming out of prime prep, but had never seen him play. I didn’t hear all that much about him last year either, so I was coming in thinking he’d be average at best.

Dude has been amazing and definitely deserves the hype he is getting at the moment.

We’ll see how he performs against the big boys. I wouldn’t be shocked if they beat Oregon. USC, is another story

Why not?

Because for all Deion’s arrogance and showmanship, he seems to be a great dad who makes his kids earn it and teaches them about life

I saw him in high school and was surprised. He’s not at all the player you’d expect. Doesn’t really rely on his athleticism. He’s a quarterback’s quarterback.

I would imagine he received top notch coaching growing up. Still impressive when you consider he is making such a huge jump in competition.

And Sean Lewis is now getting more attention than he ever did as a head coach.

Someone posted in a thread this weekend he has worked with Brady. He is a pocket passer, not Lamar Jackson athletic

But I do think his skill set translates and plays on the NFL level. I think he’s a 1st rounder whenever he decides to bounce.

He has definitely grown a ton just in the last year. His highlights at JSU were mostly him throwing short passes to receivers no one could catch or him lobbing it to a receiver no one could cover.

Damn people with those huge Shedeur Sanders Heisman odds tickets have to be loving this

I remember burrow started out 300-1 to win heisman. Wish I would have dropped a $1000 on him hell $100 would have been good.

He got better against pressure during that game.
Nebraska had some good blitzes, and that discomposed him somewhat early. He had the one throwaway that got penalized because he didn't want to take a sack.
NU ended up with 8 sacks, and more pressures, so Colorado has improvements to make in protection. But Shedeur had a good game through heavy pressure, and started getting real elusive toward the end of the game. If genetic memories from Dad start activating for elusiveness, watch out. That can result in improvised big plays because he stays looking for the throw when he's running behind the LOS.
