My son plays 7th grade football and I’m scared shitless every time he goes out there. Not for CTE, but his ankles and legs. I think he could be a D1 athlete, but sure AF not at QB/RB/S like he plays now. Only 4 more games left.
He will likely score every single point for his team all season (and in a strange way give up every point since he’s safety...and terrible at it), at least that’s how it’s gone so far.
Scary shite. Seeing him go through concussion protocol last Thursday sucked.

The whole thing is just part of the larger feminization of society in general playing out in every single arena of life right now.
It's no surprise or accident the people screeching loudest about football being scary are 130 lb media soy boys.

Yes, the "media," who make an absolute mint on pro and college football, are out to undermine it wherever they can.

The media has a vested interest in tearing anything down masculine
The global anti-male, gynocentric feminist agenda has more priority.

I played football for years. Hell, I played tackle football on asphalt with friends in HS.
Researching long term health effects isn't bad. The end goal should be for people to understand the risks, regardless of where they come down on them.
To this day, I do powerlifting and strongman, which I know can come with adverse joint consequences. I fully believe that we should live life and enjoy passions, even if some have side effects.
The drive to know more about CTE is just intelligent and allows a fully informed choice to happen. It also allows for research and development of ways to protext kids from head injuries.

Not everything in life is supposed to be safe.
Skiing isn't safe. Mountain climbing isn't safe. Car racing isn't safe.
The point of life isn't to just maximize your safety at all times.
Violence in football is a feature, not a bug. Violence is part of the appeal.
Human beings have always had a natural affinity for danger and violence. No amount of sissy brain washing will change millions of years of evolution.

Thanks Alex Jones.
The media does what gets the best ratings. Men have always been dumbed down in sitcoms, commercials, etc. cause it's funny to women who watch said things.
There is no conspiracy to emasculate the world's male population.

Judging by the # of people in this thread downvoting simple truths like "people often enjoy violence" I'd say your wrong.
You and the other hand wringers are the proof of what the media and schools have been attempting to do for the past 50 years.
Traditional masculinity has been deemed "toxic", a disease to be cured.
We can't have boys playing football, they'll pick up nasty habits like toughness, discipline, physical strength, etc.

It is good we are taking it more serious as a society now. How that is seen as bad or sissy I don't know or care.
Here in Monroe/WM area two coaches I know have stated there has been about a quarter drop (or 25%) in pee wee football participation rates across the spectrum of youth foorball ages.
And my step brother is a walking vegetable just about from playing. A few of his friends who played into high school are as fricked up mentally as he is.

Those are safe until a bad accident happens.
Football has these bad accidents as just a normal part of the game
