OSU o/u win total has been pulled off the board over at sportsbook

So, are we only supposed to ‘just let the legal process play out’ in certain situations? How can you fire the guy when there haven’t been any arrests, any charges filed or anything?
I’m not taking up for anyone. IF this is true,
The coach should be fired. Urban can’t fire someone just because a woman told his wife she was being abused. Haven’t we seen false flags from these types of situations before?
Or does everyone just want him out because he’s urban and he’s at OSU? Serious question

think she can take that bullet instead of letting him get fired with cause.
She don't need money.
She will become the primary villain (besides Smith) if she takes the bullet

What (allegedly) happened to Mrs. Smith is awful, but wtf was urban supposed to do? Arrest him? Call the cops?

I get that people are ‘outraged’, but is this really a fireable offense? I’d say no
Beating your wife for years.
Way to go, Urban.

Meyer has always been a piece of shite. It was only a matter of time.

I mean, doesn't Urban Meyer have a history of being morally bankrupt when it comes to these issues?

Meh, she's not a public figure and she lives in Columbus. She'd be just fine. Get off social media and people would forget all about her involvement because she's a woman.
And getting 7.6 million a year is a lot better than getting nothing. They aren't billionaires. 5 more years of coaching and they'd have a massive nest egg.

The fact that all of the outrage ITT is directed at urban instead of the POS that was abusing his wife is very telling
The MSB is taking a page out of the snowflake handbook right now

Lol. People get put on paid leave pending investigation all the time.
If you find out someone might have raped a little child, for example, you don't wait until it plays out. You tell him to go home and collect his checks while it plays out. You don't just let the person hang around until the process is complete.

Fair enough, but people keep skipping over my question (can’t open link in OP), has smith ever been arrested for any of these allegations?

This is stupid. Calling Urban out for being a liar isn’t tacit approval of a guy beating his wife

It's probably that a lot more people care about Urban Meyer's future than a WR coach's future.
This isn't necessarily a story just about the past, it's about future consequences. You sort of assume if there's good proof of abuse, the absuer faces consequences. The unknown is Urban's role and future.

No one cares about a Wr coach.

WR has been fired and is being investigated for domestic violence.
Urban has had nothing happen.

When was he fired? Today?

People are all bent out of shape over my opinion, but I don’t get it.. how is he supposed to distinguish between genuine accusations and what could possibly be a jilted lover trying to ruin someone’s career? By all means, if ALL the accusations are accurate, then set the MFer on fire and roll him down a hill... but I’ve seen enough shite to know that usually it’s best (for people out of the loop, like us (the internet)) to let things play out before having such a strong opinion about things and wanting people fired

It's highly likely that Urban boldly lied to everyone about it.
Part of this is just the way it is with high level college coaching. Guys in these positions, guys in most pinnacle positions in their respective profession, are often borderline psychopaths.
But if you knew of repeated accusations that one of your guys was beating up a woman in your social circle, and you, the leader of this pack, kept fostering the situation and employing the guy while he goes around and tells your wife's friends he's going to murder the woman, I just don't know how a high-profile AD at a high-profile college can tolerate that.

McMurphy on Sirius radio. Says Courtney Smith has texts from other assistants from wives saying something to effect of “Urban knows but doesn’t know what to do.”
Also Meyer’s wife is an instructor in the OSU College of Nursing and is required to report any kind of domestic abuse that she becomes aware of.
This isn’t going away.
