Corso actually died 5 years ago.

Theyre using AI and mannequins.

Corso insists he's staying the entire year no matter what and next year and his cohosts and producers all demand he steps down, but he holds one strong until one day he just quits and vanishes for several days.

While I enjoy the analytical part of the show, the comic relief part that McAfee brings gets pretty cringy at times. He does every now and then come out with some good analysis though.

I just cannot do Big Noon Kickoff. All those guys do is like the sound of their own voice and interrupt each other constantly.

Is it weird that I actually like McAfee? Seems to bring a spark to College Gameday that was missing.

I just want to see Corso pull the old fake-a-roo and toss Big Al to the side to put on the LSU headgear one more time. Sitting right next to Saban this time.

I want to see Corso step down, but he made the show and has earned the right to retire when he wants to at this point.

In other words, someone will say the F-word on GameDay this season.

Unfortunately, how annoying he is on his show is bleeding into my viewing of him on Gameday. Where I work, there is someone who has that on all the time so it is hard for me to avoid.

Corso needs to go

I have no issues with Corso, I just take him as that quirky old uncle who has earned his place at the big table for get-togethers. He's fun, sometimes wise, and rarely to be taken too seriously. You just enjoy him while you still have him.

the only people who watch Gameday in 2024 are the people who turn on ESPN, post on Facebook that they are watching gameday, then play on their phone for 3 hours

i despise this line of thinking.

No, corso has not earned "the right" to make the product far worse and stick around YEARS after his usefulness for no other reason than 'he's done it for so long".

Do we let doctors, pilots, etc. stick around until they can barely form one coherent sentence just becuase they started their job a while ago? No of course not, because at that point their usefulness to the profession has ended. Propping up the barely functioning geriatric so he can mumble a couple things while kirk has to hold him upright isn't good for anyone, corso and his family included.

Well, Corso doesn't have the life and death of others, like doctors and pilots do, hanging in the balance while he's on TV for 3.5 minutes to put on a mascot head

I used a bit of creative hyperbole there but the point still stands.

Yeah I don't hate his show but I refuse to watch it.

His energy on Gameday is much needed tho.

Six people at the desk, Jessica Sims in the crowd, and Stanford Steve? Jesus, that's a bloated crew.

People have forgot just how good Lee Corso once was. In his prime he was up there with Charles Barkley in my opinion.

And therein lies the problem. The people who definitely DO remember how good he was are people that were right in the sweet spot age group during that time, meaning they're now in their mid-30s to 40s. Which means the majority of the CGD viewing demographic nowadays weren't even around then and have no concept of that version of Lee and only know him as an aging relic.

They're keeping him around because he's an institution or a legend or whatever but the people that remember him as such have largely aged out of even watching their program anyway!

They could have sent Corso out with the greatest send-off party years ago. At this point, they are just begging for this man to kick the bucket on live television.

Didn't he have some pity party last year and say he is not coming back to Gameday?
