If you look at what Shipley did, it was so minor in retrospect. But he got himself on their radar earlier when he called the NCAA a Mickey Mouse organization.

Shipley got on their radar when he brought in African American players and integrated the team. They hated him for it and tried to bring down the program. When he started winning they started investigating.
One thing you can say about Marlin is he runs a clean ship with higher than average graduation rates. It’s been far too long (2014) between NCAA tourney appearances but this one is real nice!
