Wish the best for him. He was a talented young man that didn’t quite fit what we were trying to do going forward while at LSU and he definitely made a smart choice leaving Texas A&M. Go off in the ACC brother.

While I never understood bolting immediately after the last regular season game, I always liked Max.

He doesn’t fit anything anyone is trying to do. When he throws he looks like he’s trying desperately to avoid falling backwards off the roof of a skyscraper. If we have a QB that was even remotely competent in 2021 we would’ve beaten Bama 2 years in a row.

My guess is a Max Johnson led UNC will be the end of Mack Brown's run in Chapel Hill

Bit of a widow maker it’s true.

Sam Howell and Drake Maye done well there. Maybe Mack Brown sees something in him.

He should sing that old Johnny Cash song “I’ve Been Everywhere Man.”

This is crazy. Constantly traveling around to find your niche will only be detrimental to player development. Make one move only and stick with it.

Guess he likes playing for coaches with national titles, this is his 3rd coach.

But much much better stats for LSU
MJ in 2 years - 3900 yds, 35 TDs, 7 INTs, 60%
BH in 3 years - 2700 yds, 20 , 10, 53%

I really dont get the Johnson hate at all from our fans

Mack Brown used to be pretty good with quarterbacks. We’ll see what he can do.

This is actually a perfect description of how Max Johnson plays quarterback.

I don’t either. It was ugly, but he did put up good stats and was—and still is—a tough SOB. It wasn’t all his fault, but the fanbase had turned on him, and he knew he’d have a hard time beating out both Nuss and the incoming Howard. Probably figured the new coach would bring in another guy, too. No problem at all with him transferring. Nothing against him at all. Now, his dad is a super douche, though.

And he may wind up starting in Chapel Hill, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near enough to have been promised the starting gig. He may win it, but he’ll have to imo.

Or maybe he knows he's not going pro and he's just stacking free degrees while playing a sport he loves.

He is tough as nails. He played a couple games this year with broken ribs and he stuck around this year when he knew he wouldn’t be the starter to begin it. I don’t know what else UNC has on the roster behind Maye, he’s limited in what he can do but a good guy to have in the QB room and probably an upgrade on a lot of P5 starters

Do you think he'll start? I know Maye is gone but that doesn't necessarily mean it's just going to be given to Max. He wasn't even the starter initially at A&M. Could be a Spencer Sanders situation at Ole Miss

Already coined by Tanner Mordecai but I suppose we will get more used to CFB being like the NFL.
