Firing Franklin and paying that buyout to hire a coach who’s 2-23 vs ranked teams would be insane

This. I mean, I get firing Franklin. Was never impressed with him, but Rhule seems like a downgrade.

I don't watch a whole lot of middle of the pack Big 10 games though, so I really don't know.

Disagree. I think he’s an amazing hire. No offense to Nebraska fans but y’all’s program isn’t set up (yet) to win in the NIL era.

Look at our incoming recruiting classes. People dont realize the amount of damage this program took under Scott Frost

Yeah. He was super evasive in questioning at the end of his time at Baylor.

Nebraska's first call should be to Dan Mullen.

How about you just hire Franklin and beat PSU's arse w/the guy they're paying to go away?

I don't love Franklin, but I am kind of in disbelief a guy who got to the semis last year, usually goes 10-2, and was like number 2 in the country two weeks ago got whacked.

I feel like college football is better when folks like Iowa, kind of in the middle of nowhere but a great college area, are able to be competitive

I fixed it for you, Nebraska had their glory... they sold their soul for the 90s.

Ill be honest I wouldn't mind taking Franklin in as long as there was no undisclosed issue for why he got fired.

I feel the same way if Ferentz retired. Franklin is a good coach and a great recruiter. He can come off as aloof and arrogant but his players have all seemed to love him. He will definitely be a P5 coach next year or the year after.

Wasn't Bill O'Brien the one that took them over after the sanctions?

Franklin took them over after Bill O. He did not rebuild them, but hey, let's ignore history.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag. BOB was there for two years before jumping to the Texans. He suffered through the worst of the sanctions, they were lifted when Franklin got there, but his early teams were still impacted.
