We've discussed this before here, but the NBA hasn't done anything about it. Just a few of the issues:

-bad tv schedule, west coast games start too late at night
-regular season needs to be cut down by at least 30%
-too many teams make the playoffs, which makes individual regular season games feel even more meaningless. Who cares if your team has an off night and loses by 50 to Dallas, you only need to eek out about 42 wins in 82 games to make the playoffs.
-star treatment/bad officiating. See: James Harden
-tanking. I understand why teams do it, but it makes the games unwatchable for both fans of the teams and their opponents. Like an FCS match-up in football

They need to go towards a NFL style salary cap where certain teams can't steal players from small market teams.

If you want a viable league, it has to remain competitive.
Don't get me wrong, some teams have terrible GM's and coaches like the Knicks but you have to make it more equitable to sustain it.

Durant should have never been able to bolt for the Warriors.
Tampering is out of control for all these free agents.
The fact the Pels only option on the table was with the Lakers is terrible for the league.

Plus the Rockets GM pissed off China.

And under normal circumstances he never would have been able to, but the salary cap spiked up that year. League should have made sure the cap bump was smoothed

Both teams in NY blow, Bay Area 10million people that over night don't give a frick about basketball. Huge metro area of Dallas has a superstar but it's still football season so could give zero fricks. Clippers load management hurting their viewership. Zion national Prime time tour got the L

I keep hearing about these numbers and I’m sure they’re accurate. But isn’t it a little early to be saying this? It is super early in the NBA season. Let’s see how the rating are post all star break.
