Doesn't surprise me LINK

Not sure which is more unwatchable...NBA reg season or NCAA reg season basketball.

What caused this all to happen in one year? It's not like much has changed right?

eTA: Golden States ratings being down 50% because they suck now is the least shocking thing ever. Talk about the bandwagon to end all bandwagons. Most of them could probably still get refunds on their jerseys they're so new.

While I typcially enjoy NCAAB more than NBA, the UVA vs Purdue game last night was an absolutely abomination. By far the most boring basketball game I have watched, ever.

People who prefer college basketball to the NBA are fans of atmosphere, not basketball.

The move from Oakland to San Francisco played a part in this.

How many times can you watch a bunch of guys running up and down a court, trying to get a ball into a basket without getting bored?

I glanced at the link but didn't notice anything about whether the decline was all domestic or if it included international. Is China included in these figures?

I've always considered myself a big fan of the NBA (and college BB) although don't think I've watched an entire game yet this year. Part of it is due to being in the middle of football season and having so many other entertainment options. Guessing I'll start watching more in early 2020.

-no loyalty- jumping around from team to team to play with their friends. If I wanted to watch that, I’d go to the YMCA
-special treatment to certain players
-too much soap boxing/SJW tendencies
-small market teams basically have no chance

Uh, no it didn't. The fact that it's a g-league roster played all the parts.

Got to admit I haven’t watched one game for more than a half.

Just not interesting to watch the regular season. Of course the Pels and Bulls being trash is part of it.

I’ll be all in for the playoffs though.

China's viewership numbers are what matter now, right?

Maybe the NBA can strike a deal Communist Party of China to force people to watch games.

You can thank the casual fans “only titles matter” kinda guys for creating the narrative that the regular season doesn’t mean anything. Also many have tuned out due to politics.

When it came to China , the lead SJW Popovich and Kerr disappeared.

That's a crazy statement.

I think what you are trying to say is that the NBA has a higher level of basketball. That's true.

But, you can make a pretty good case that the game itself in college is better. (ex: contrast of styles and philosophies, more team game, more meaningful games, real upsets, etc.)

The biggest factor though is that college fans are fans of the school...moreso than the individual players. Obviously, the NBA is trending away from that.

I watch college all the time

Haven't turned on an NBA game that wasn't my terrible Orlando Magic in years. Just don't care.

Pretty much all this except the political aspect. Most people dgaf about what Athletes say.

I’d also add that just like MLB, it’s a long arse season. I only watch NBA come playoff time.
