The fact that Brady has had good defenses does little to diminish his accomplishments when he's on the field
You are right, but tell me the difference between what Brady did at the end of Super Bowl XXXVI vs the Rams and what Jim Kelly did at the end of Super Bowl XXV vs the Giants?
Tell me the difference between what Brady did late in the Super Bowl vs Seattle and say what Brees did in the Divisional round vs The 49ers in 2011?

There isnt a logical rebuttal, but they will dance around it.

Should be required reading and a test must be passed before being able to post on the MSB.

There would be about 10-15 people left...

From 2000-2010, when Manning was there, the Colts were 125-51. During that same time frame, the Patriots were 126-50. What set the Patriots apart from the Colts in the last decade was their success in the playoffs.
and that was because......drum roll please.......
THEY HAD A BETTER DEFENSE

Brady's superior facial aesthetics motivated the defense to play harder for him

And this whole thread ignores the intangibles that most analysts use to put Brady over the top: namely his leadership abilities, his mental and physical toughness, as well as his ability to win.

Average Playoff Points given up by defense:
1. Brady 20ppg
2. Manning 21ppg
T3. Rodgers/Brees 29ppg
Average Playoff points scored by offense:
T1. Rodgers/Brees 29ppg
3. Brady 26ppg
4. Manning 22ppg

I feel like that's literally the argument of some in here.

Reasons like this and few others is why I don't really like to pick one guy and say he is the greats of all time. There are so many factors that go into the success of a player I just think that once you get to a certain level its nearly impossible to know who the best is.

Unless you're watching the all 22 film of every play and really breaking it down, we're all just talking about stuff that we really don't understand nearly as well as we think we do.

Spot on, boss. A bit of a tangent but people ranking things to find best ever of anything or some kind of definitive list is so reductive that it's worthless.

This is just the refuge of someone who doesn't actually have a point or any actual argument to support his position.

Kelly had 2:16 to work with while Brady had 1:08 to work with. Brady drove his team down the field in less time and their kicker won the game.

The difference is one was the divisional round and the other was the Super Bowl. San Francisco didn't even make it to the Super Bowl that year.

At least don't be so obvious about dodging a question.

New England had all three timeouts, and started with the ball on the 40 and Brady advanced them 37 yards.
Buffalo Started on their own 10, and Kelly drove them 61 yards
