Both great accomplishments no doubt. But the edge goes to the big boy. Having to recruit the old fashion way and get it done was incredible at Kansas. What might have mangino done with an elite roster like the Hoosiers purchased?

You’ll annoy like 3 Missouri fans, 2 pages at the most

It was a great accomplishment but they lucked out avoiding 3 of the 4 other good teams in the Big 12 that season. The rest of the conference stunk. The only one they played was Mizzou and they lost.
Sidenote: How the hell did Nebraska not immediately fire Bill Callahan after Kansas put 76 on them?

What Bill Snyder did at Kansas State is the greatest coaching job in college football history imo.

Absolutely, and he managed to do it twice! Those Collin Klein teams were fun to watch.

Nailed it. Cream puff non conference too. That’s why LSU went to the natty with 2 loses and they had 1.

That fat fricker was the best thing that EVER happened to KU football.
He was completely set-up by the administration and the old guard at KU, because of his success and those peckerwoods would have rather lost and looked past football which was demanding it’s fair share of the holier than though basketball program.
He was accused and voluntarily stepped down with a buyout for verbally abusing players.
The ironic part of the whole story is that the sanctimonious POS Lew Perkins was the AD who orchestrated the entire ordeal. Turns out Lew Perkins was just that, a POS…and a thief. He was caught up in a multi-million dollar ticket scalping scheme within the athletic program, specifically that vaunted KU BB program.
