clearly Ryan's contract is what caused Quinn and Schottenhiemer to go brain dead and blow a 25 point lead

And of course if the Saints weren't paying Brees so much the refs would have called obvious PI

That makes no sense. The point is to win games and championships.

A player’s individual value to a team should decrease if the team’s overall success starts to decrease.

They’ve been saying for a while he could be the first fully guaranteed contract in the NFL

Did you take a 30% reduction in pay to help your company out during COVID?

But let this happen before Dak gets a contract. He surely will want more than PM.

The problem is that Dak sucks

that's a part of the sacrifice a qb has to make. can't have your cake and eat it too. Brees got his money and no more sb's. Brady came as close as possible but he took pay cuts so he didn't get his max value.

Mahomes is one of about 3 QBs who you can win with while still paying him an exorbitant amount of money. He's that good.

So the QB should take less so other players can make more, makes sense maybe the real issue is the salary cap?

I’m still waiting for someone who to explain to me how Brees’ salary caused the refs to not call obvious PI?

Chiefs have never had a franchise QB before so the Hunt family isn't going to piss him off. Mahomes will make as much as he chooses. Maybe he'll be willing to take less if he gets more guaranteed.

That’s because you can’t think outside the realm of a salary cap.

There has been talks that new language in the contract will be present that has never been seen before.

I heard some guys talking yesterday about a deal always being a certain % of the salary cap (after his guantees money). Said revenue went up more than expected, which increased the cap and will continue to do so. So, if the Chiefs decide they can live with him getting 20% of the cap, for example, his annual pay would be based off that. Pretty creative and makes sense.

Florio has been beating the drum for a while. The owners probably wouldn’t want to set that precedent

What do you mean fricked? This is the way it goes; if you have an elite QB signing his second deal he's going to get a huge contract. He isn't taking a hometown discount nor should he.
