My only thinking is of respect for the Cubs for his start and how he was able to retire a Cub

I'd rather Maddux go in as a Brave than Glavine. Both great pitchers, but Glavine the humman always rubbed me the wrong way.

he was on the dogers, then the padres, then back on the dodgers to end his career. definitely didnt retire a cub.

Its possible he did one of those one day signings so he could retire a cub. Im not sure if this is the case though.

perhaps. i really dont remember, i just looked it up. and it said he finished with the dodgers. but i doubt it would list a ceremonial signing.

If he did, it didn't make the news.

Im almost positive its because of wade boggs.

Tampa put it in a few people's contract, Boggs was just the first the make the HOF. Tampa had in the contracts of both Jose Canseco & Fred McGriff's deals, probably a few others.

I'm going to see if I can find that interview from Maddux's agent(?) after he left the braves and said we could have taken the braves money but re upping with them meant nothing to him.
If I'm full of shite I'm full of it, I think I remember people getting upset about that back in the day.

I'm a die hard Cubbie and I think he should go in as a Brave. It makes the most sense.

Boggs denied that ever happened (he's wearing a Sox cap on his HOF plaque)

Wasnt there a big deal a few years ago because wade boggs wanted to go in as a ray because they were gonna pay him or something and they made it so players couldnt choose

Unless this is new, because I remember when Canseco, I mean when I signed with Rays, it was in my contract that if I made the HOF, I would go in as a Devil Ray....I should have been the first for the franchise. fricking MLB blackballing me bc of a few books.

Alright this is probably gonna sound stupid to most of y'all but I don't really pay a whole lot of attention to MLB and the HOF policies but I think they should let them have dual logos.
Kinda like what the Falcons did for Tony this past year.

Exactly, why would anyone care if this is what he wanted.

I don't think Maddux ever gave two shits about Atlanta. He always lived in Vegas.
