Herman wanted Texas over LSU, but this statement is dumb. LSU has one of the top budgets, the best facilities, and plays in what is considered to be the best conference. 99% of coaches would love to coach at LSU. I have no illusions that there are better jobs, but if it's not a top 10 job it's really close.

Yes it is. It's just isn't Texas. But neither is any other job besides USC.

If strong doesn't get fired Herman is coaching LSU. Texas was his dream job the minute it opened up that was where he was going.

LSU not getting Herman is Lea Miles's fault. Les didn't give Delahousse a scholarship so he transferred to Texas. He the proceeded to miss field goals left and right which cost Texas a couple of games. So screw Les Miles.

usc is definitely overrated. doesn't change the fact that herman is one of the best coaches right now.

Not really. Herman told alleva he wanted to hear out texas. Alleva acted like a 5 year old, pulled the offer, and said, dont worry about it, i have a guy that wants to be the coach at lsu. If he would have offered herman 1 mil more a year and told him to forget about visiting texas, he is probably here right now. We didnt try hard enough to get him

Herman is essentially playing Manziel ball without Manziel. It won't go well.

Yea finishing 3rd in a shitty conference with the most talent is awesome
Isn't he supposed to be some offensive genius? Didn't score an offensive TD until the 3rd quarter against Maryland - got blown out
Didn't score an offensive TD until 50 seconds left last night

This still makes no sense. There were literally 40-50 coaches we could have hired that had a better resume than O

USC had a ton of trouble with Western Michigan to start the season. It's completely possible they simply aren't as good as predicted.

Plus that Stanford win looks a lot less impressive now that they just lost to San Diego State.

Herman was always going to Texas. LSU had no chance at getting him as soon as it was apparent Strong was going to be fired.

The stupid move was Alleva hiring Orgeron purely out of butthurt and spite. When your response is "durr frick you, I've got this baw over here who really wants the job!" you have no business being an administrator in major college athletics.

Who could've seen this coming? I mean, it's not like Alleva has ever been publicly embarrassed and brought shame to a university before...

I would take P.J Fleck over Coach O any day. Why not !!! But he has no experience coaching in SEC . Well Coach O really had only that train wreck at Ole Miss on his head coaching record. But his our guy for three years at least.

LOL @ you people that think LSU had a remote shot at Herman. As soon as the UT job opened up, Herman died on the vine.

I'm not exactly sure that Herman would've ever picked LSU over Texas, but LSU sure as heck could've made a better hire than Orgeron.
