Kind of late to start a topic. The team from Phenix City, Alabama is dominating California. They have a 12 year old girl playing catcher tonight. She is also a pitcher.
“Kinley Rasmus pitched a complete-game shutout with three hits allowed, no walks and eight strikeouts to defeat Tennessee 4-0 in the Southeast regional final.
She hit.750, going 6-for-8, during the regional tournament.
Her performance helped Alabama qualify for its first Little League World Series appearance in 27 years.
Kinley is the daughter of former Major League pitcher Cory Rasmus, who pitched for the Angels and Braves.
Her uncle is former MLB outfielder Colby Rasmus, who played for five teams between 2009 and 2018.”

Can someone please tell me why the city is Phenix City? Like even looking at it online, it always looks wrong. Like what happened to the O? Phoenix is a proper city name. Having your city as Phenix seems like someone forgot the O and they never changed the city name and just went with it.

I don’t think it’s exaggerating to say she’s the best female to play in the LLWS.
Alabama should’ve won game one against Washington. She went six innings, eight Ks and only gave up one hit. Had a hell of a catch too when she got moved to SS. She came close to hitting a HR last night. Run ruling California might be enough to get Alabama rolling.
Her last two starts against Tennessee and Washington she’s gone 12.0, no runs allowed, 16 Ks. Not sure how Alabama plays it but you have to think she gets the start tomorrow against Pennsylvania.
