Alabama is running out of pitchers. Even if they survive tomorrow, they’ll have no one Thursday.
That said - three straight wins when facing elimination.

Who did they pitch today?

That Ala coach is really good with those kids. They are so composed too.

I want to like this more.
13 year olds playing on baby fields is a joke. It’s like watching college softball. The scale is just so under what is clearly called for.
Decently athletic/former baseball playing middle aged men can throw the ball over the fence from home plate.
These field dimensions are meant for 10-11 year olds. Not kids entering puberty.

If that was true, you’d see way more HR’s.

I see a ton of HR’s relative to what I’d otherwise expect at that age
The bases and mound distance are the real issue. But ultimately, and with some very limited exception, most of the talent moved out of the LL system a couple decades ago. Though occasionally some leave their travel ball teams for a few weeks to participate for the experience, which I won’t fault anyone for.
But for the kids this age that are any good—they are playing on much bigger fields most of the year.

Jerry Taylor. He was solid but reached his pitch limit.
As for Casey Rasmus - that’s why it’s easy to be a fan of this team. His dad Tony is a damn good coach but he’s an a-hole. Casey makes the kids want to perform for him and is a really good dude.
He and his brother are why it’s hard to count this team out. They made mistakes today but they are a well coached team who can still find ways to win.

I was worried they were going to lose their lead when they put that last kid in to pitch in the 6th as mop up duty. You hate to see kids fail. Fortunately they held on to win.

The relief pitcher was a gamble for sure but if they have any chance to win it all, that kid probably needed to pitch a little today.

100%
The same age group playing in Dixie is playing on a 50ft mound, 70ft bases, and 225 fences field. With leading off and stealing.
