If you don't like it, it wasn't designed for you..I like both tours, and something different is refreshing.

The only thing I want to preserve is the sanctity of the majors (and I want the best players in those majors despite the tour they play on).

High school teams, college teams, Ryder cup, presidents cup, most casual weekend warriors are all team events, including scrambles.

To say that golf can't involve a team aspect is just factually wrong.

The biggest problem with LIV is they are trying to recreate the YouTube golf vibe that Good Good, Fore Play, BDS ect do so much better than they do, while trying to maintain some aspect of tournament golf. When the focus of golf is for entertainment, which is obviously what LIV is going for, its better off edited and packaged. The beauty of live golf, especially in the final round, are the spaces that build tension in a more traditional golf setting. They are basically hybridizing two popular golf products into something that is half arse.

In your opinion.

I don’t mind LIV. It’s an interesting test kitchen for ideas.

What I dislike is the fake rah-rah crap from several of these top name guys who are clearly there to cash a very large check. Rahm looked like a tool spraying champagne for the “team win” which he has made quite clear he hates. He insisted on half of his $600 million from the Saudis up front. He has already deposited 6X his career earnings just by showing up. He’s just out there taking a walk.

The music is probably my least favorite part of the broadcast. I can play with music on, most of the guys I play with regularly like music playing and I'm not opposed. When I play by myself I don't have it playing though. I just hate listening to music I don't like so when I'm watching a pro golf tournament one of the last things I want to hear is a Lady Gaga song on in the background. When I'm with my buddies I'm at least listening to music I like. Give me control of LIV's Spotify and and I'd be ok

I do disagree about the "leisure" aspect of it. They are competing just as hard to win when they are out there as they were when they were on the PGA Tour. One of the biggest knocks on LIV initially was how they were going to lose their competitive spirit, not practice as much, and get blown away when they play in the majors. They pretty much proved that to be false. Unless you're just talking about the music aspect of it.

Maybe if you quit thinking it’s fake, then you’ll realize they’re actually competing & it’s pretty entertaining.

Yeah that’s why he seemed so upset after finishing with back to back bogeys. Clearly the individual competition was important to him.

Is he faking all of this too?

“It's very nice, in a day in which in any normal tournament I probably would have been upset at my finish, to actually have something to celebrate,” said Rahm, the reigning Masters champ who joined LIV Golf in December. “That is one of the big reasons why I decided to transition.”

He should get into acting.

Maybe you missed the “50% up front” part of that LIV contract. He’s already been paid to look like he cares. That’s what the Saudis bought.

Are you naive enough to think that he joined LIV because he craves the thrill of victory against the best golfers in the world? Because that’s over on the other channel.

LIV has some compelling storylines. Team Billion Dollar Danny Noonan dancing around on tour stop number one like they just won the Super Bowl isn’t one of them.

LIV and the PGA are both close to unwatchable right now. The fans lose here - the sport is fractured. Maybe beyond repair.

Very debatable. LIVs leaderboard looked full of heavy hitters this weekend. Checking the PGAs leaderboard didn't have hardly any recognizable names.... maybe a few.

I honestly don’t care who is playing LIV, the TV product is awful. I’ve tried watching it and I just can’t. I understand the moves and money, but I’m not watching.

No one that says this ever actually says what they don't like about it

Is it the more golf and less commercials and scenic camera shots? Its the faint background music on some holes? The scoring pylon? (that the PGA directly copied).

Most of the complaints I hear are bc it’s “different” than the PGA Tour, which is absurd. Thats the whole point.

LIV Golf is trying to appeal to a different demographic. They don’t really care about making sure the 50 year olds who have always watched the PGA Tour are happy. If they watch, that’s great, but they’re intentionally trying to be different than the PGA.
