The players on tour should be thankful for Liv golf. Before Liv, the tour was keeping way more of the money. All of a sudden, the tour found all this extra prize money to pay out.

I doubt Phil is ever allowed back.

Just make the players qualify through traditional PGA Tour methods in cases they aren’t exempt from certain tournaments. Back to the beginning with your riches.

are you legit fricking special? In order to increase prize money, they had to decrease field size, sell to private equity, and layoff 100s of people. They weren’t sitting on any money . They are now hemorrhaging because the new pay isn’t sustainable. “All of a sudden” . Dumb as mud

Has to be the war with Iran and Israel's actions. Not to mention Saudi is a Muslim country and it's very clear Israel and the US are anti muslim and pushing the "christian war" narrative right now.

Right. Sponsors have dropped because they don’t want to pay the increased purses
The entire group of golfers overvalued themselves, and LIV has been corrected and the tour will do so soon unless they completely revamp the structure, which is what they are currently trying to do

Despite what Patrick cantlay thinks, nobody cares about him enough to pay more because he is in a field.

Prior to Liv, purses were in the 400M range. Now, it’s probably more than twice that.

It shouldn’t take competition to force you to manage something properly.

I think that’s false, he’s certainly a guy golf viewers know, and I think viewership will rise if all the top stars are playing together again, which will cover those purses

The PGA tour is objectively in worse shape because of the steps they had to take to overpay players due to LIV

Other than the private equity component, all that stuff is good

A tiered system will smaller field in tier A is the way to go.

Lifetime ban for Phil Dickelson and Greg Norman. Screw those guys. Make the players start at the bottom. Q school, play Monday qualifiers, alternates for tournaments, Asian Tour, Korn Ferry, whatever. Plus a monster fine.

They don’t get to pick up where they were and take the place of guys who have been grinding the last few years. I’ve read the PGA is not going to make it easy on them to return.
