I've known Mike Collins a long time and you can bet his arse was red after that meltdown.

That’s two of the last teams in this state that anyone will cry for…

60 Running clocks this week which does not count 4 coaches requested/agreed running clocks. Yes I got 4 texts from people that read this saying "my game was running"

In a big proponent of running the clock. But would be happier if just went to 8 min periods in the following quarter.

It is really sucky to limit your 2sor 3s to so little time

For instance we have had three JV games cancel, those kids see very little time. No team in town will play JV or freshman ball. They cancel all the time. I wanna say They have had 3 games this year

Heck we had two minutes run off the clock discussing a penalty.

Pineville was so poorly prepared it was sad, I felt sorry for those kids. They had size and some athletes. There is zero reason to be that bad. There is no reason to allow your kid to play football over there if that is all they are going to do to develop a team.

love the guy but at some point there are some coaching blunders. Going back to Central last year, losing these leads late in games is just hard to believe. Looks like my Trojans will have their hands full the next three weeks. Ouachita appears legit, because that West Monroe team is really solid. If you can play w them you can play w anyone not named Karr.

It just takes so much more now to be a competent coach and develop a program… when we had more parity in the old days the game wasn’t nearly as advanced in high school as it is now

I agree with you. But these are basic football tenets I’m not saying they should be good or win district games.

But comparing two teams Many and Pineville

Many played w leverage, tackled, showed some physicality. They have half the resources. They were outmanned by a huge margin but they at least tried to do the correct things. Pineville not as outmanned but refused to tackle. Refused to play w leverage Lacked any physicality. If they just tackled a little bit, and coverage?

Agreed, our opponent this week requested a running clock at 35-0. The 2’s had basically one and a half drives. The 3’s didn’t see the field.

ETA: we also had two JV games canceled.

Side note: Is Collegiate Prep one of the worst 3A teams ever? They have only scored 8 points all year and are giving up an average of 52.9 points a game. (Avg 52.9 to 1.1 per game)

pretty sure Pine Prairie also in 3A hasn't scored a point all year and its been multiple years since they won a game

We had a game go similarly this year and we got 6 plays in the 2nd half on offense. I have 30 guys to try to get in for my position alone. Do the math…

One must also consider how unprepared kids are when they make it to HS.

1 coaching at middle school level is declining and so many kids are not playing tackle football till hs.

Fundamental instruction prior to hs is a luxury the haves have.

See a poorly prepared team look closely at their feeder pipeline.

Running clocks are stupid for this reason…. That’s the time kids who don’t normally get to play, play.

It’s high school, not Rec ball. Life
Lessons…. If you suck at something. You get embarrassed. Be better

Not really, as kids who went to area
Schools in district had choice
Where to go.

Plus it was known for years this school was opening. So have plenty of time for committed parents of decent athletes to get in the school district.

Much different than a class B school finally reaching enrollment numbers to be able tot field
A team

The junior and senior classes at PVHS aren't even full classes - both of those grades had the choice of staying at their previous School or moving to the new Prairieville High School last school year.

Anyone and everyone has the right to their own opinion, personally I think it's a pretty amazing story
