How salty is Bastrop this year? Asking as a concerned Neville Tiger.

They've given up 50+ in each of the last 3 games. They are still extremely undisciplined and a penalty machine. Their offense is good but defense and special teams are horrendous.

Aren't you a Dunham guy?

No. I graduated from Parkview in the same class as The Boat.

I know this isn't their year. Will be better next year.

Is Ponchatoula the only 'non select school' in the Top 10?

They put Byrd back into Non Select this year despite being a magnet and being in the Dome last year in Select.

Dont sleep on Thibidaux's defense

Also, the greatest "rival but not really a rivalry" in the state as Central Lafourche travels to South Lafourche.

Have seen both Thib and D'han, big talent difference. D'han wins this one easily.

Anyone got a prediction for Lutcher-St. Michael?

Just going by past history, I'd have to give the edge to our Bulldogs.

Lutcher has run a gauntlet of 5A schools in pre-disctrict play and has been toughened up by it. (And made it through with few if any injuries which might be more important). The Bulldog QB has been putting up some impressive numbers.

St. Michaels is 5-0 so they will come in with some confidence and knowing they can play ball. Also the game is in BR so that should give them an edge.

I think the Dawgs take this one. Then again, I may just be wishful thinking since they usually beat us in a heart-breaker in soccer the last few years.

Maybe one day we'll hate you guys as much as you hate us.

Well obviously there's a talent difference, but this is high school football that doesn't always matter. If it did Warren Easton would be undefeated.

This being Destrehan's first road game of the year, Merritt possibly being out, plus the incompetent bayou area refs means this could be a closer game than you think.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that it's not home cooking, it's just that these refs are bad. There's only one crew in the area that I find is really good. On the opposite end of the spectrum there is another crew that when I see a certain ref out on the field I know it's going to be a sh*t show.

In our junior high game last night in Ruston their receiver was 3 yards off the ball early. No call, they scored.

We had our slot guy go in motion last week and the DE for ESJ saw and he jumped. We got flagged for illegal procedure. Our coach threw a fit. We ran that same play a dozen more times and it never got flagged again.

The worse over here is the clock operators. It seems they put their most inexperienced guys as the operators and just about every game they run 5+ minutes off the clock for no reason (running the clock while refs discuss penalties, running the clock after an incomplete pass, running the clock while they're moving the chains for a first down, during injury timeouts).
