St. Augustine’s Cyril Crutchfield has won three state titles in his 15 seasons as a head coach, including stops at Port Sulphur, South Plaquemines and Landry high schools. In all of those years as odd as it may sound, Crutchfield said he has never attempted a field goal.

wow... i wonder if someone could make a movie out of that

i would have thought he'd have tried one just because in the fourth quarter of an Ecole/Ridgewood/Lutheran blowout...

watch that man get kick-crazy the rest of the season, then when he needs a 25 yarder to go to the Dome, SHANK!!!!!!

He doesn't actually look good. Maybe he's distracted. His dad might be having trouble at work.

Yeah, I haven't been watching the whole game, but that last TD pass was a good ball.

95 years of HC/Jesuit. Hard to believe it was only in the 69th year when I played. I was 2-1 against them but they got us senior year

Aren't you a Dunham guy? That would make this comment VERY amusing. PBS will finish with 2 losses in regular season and potentially play UHIgh again in the dome. St. Charles will be the only threat with JC and Evangel playing up.

Crutchfield is/was notorious for running it up on outmanned teams while at South Plaquemines/Port Sulphur

He was up 82-0 over Ecole and still kicking onside kicks and throwing deep balls late in the 4th, Not to mentionagainst Phoenix (80-0) and multiple times he ran it up severely overmatched teams while up 60+ points.

In addition to that his teams were also known for playing very dirty, having tons of personal fouls off of cheap shots.

He uses a ton of excuses about why he doesn't kick FGs. Plain and simple he just likes to run up the score and is a win at any cost type of coach. Not saying he isn't a good coach as he is a tremendous football coach.

He is a great guy off of the field and one of the nicest people you will meet off of the field. He does genuinly care for his players.

But on the field he is probably the most classless and least respected coaches in Louisiana.

Do nit count out ND, missing 4-5 players at times due too off field stuff.

ND is perhaps the most physical team in division....

ND significantly more of a threat than Scc.....
