Are Calvary and Neville in the same class????

"The Week 2 schedule originally had Westgate traveling to Calvary Baptist and Southside taking on Neville. Each of those games have been canceled, and now Neville will head to Calvary for a 7 p.m. Friday matchup."

Question on high school rules.

Onside kick, ball is judged to have been touched by kicking team before 10 yards.

I thought receiving team got the ball at the spot of touching.

Tonight, refs gave receiving team the call, 15 yards forward of the spot of touching. There was a long discussion among refs before this happened.

If that’s not the rule, I wonder if some unsportsmanlike penalty was added on and not signaled by white hat.

I was thinking we hit someone illegally trying to receive the ball… the defenseless receiver rules still apply

can't make contact prior to ball going 10 yards that's the penalty

With the ball or with an opposing player?

if contact is made with an opposing player before the ball goes 10 yards it is a foul. If kicking touches the ball the play is not dead - R can pick up the ball and run - simply touching it does not "down" it. R can either take the first touching spot or the results of the play if they pick it up and run - they can actually run and gain say 30 yards and FUMBLE and K can recover and then R can choose to take the first touching spot (provided R did not commit a foul during the play)...

you wanna see a coach have a stroke....... boom

Is the penalty for contact with opposing player before 10 yards a 15 yard penalty?

They maybe they called two things… illegal touching and illegal contact.., so R gets ball at spot plus 15 yards?

In this case, K recovered the kick so R was unable to advance it.

it is not illegal touching

15 for contacting R before ball went 10 yards.
R chooses the spot of first touching and penalty

Asinine. They are STUDENT athletes. But by all means let's glorify athletics at the expense of education.

I can't imagine how PBS got shut out in Week 1. Dunham must be really good.

Prairieville HS will struggle this year. And next year. There will be improvements, but they simply don't have the athletes right now to compete against well-established programs.

Catholic has a lot of young talent because they lost a ton from last years team
Hard to say but I didn’t think they would win both those games

I think Karr is the team to beat

West Monroe gives up 67 in a 20 point loss. How the mighty have fallen over the years. Guessing they finish 4th in their own district.
