Anybody got a final from East Jeff & Higgins this morning?

Sumner’s first undefeated regular season in school history. First round bye. It’s a shame that a rural, public school that doesn’t pull players from anywhere has a once in a lifetime team, and basically has little to no chance to overcome an LCA team from a school created to recruit and have great football teams. No one says that they will even meet, but it’s really unfortunate, imo.
Jewell Sumner will lose a week or two before they would see LCA so it’s all a moot point.

But you can have a 5 team district and if Liberty is improving it will be competitive as hell
Five team district in 5A is basically impossible. It’s nearly impossible to schedule 5A games with a six team district.
It’s going to be the big three plus LP.

How long have you been following Sumner? If you are basing this solely on their past playoff performances, I think that this is a different team. You could, of course, turn out to be right. I’m surely hoping that you don’t.

They don’t get pass Calvary.

????
The Northshore just had two of them, 6 and 7-5A…
5 and 7 can work if you have a scheduling agreement with AP+LP for later in the season
Maybe they’ll put Prairieville in with EBR Parish to have 6 and 6 but AP probably wants to stay together

Yes, and a 6-4 team missed the playoffs because they had the second lowest strength of schedule in all of 5A
Scheduling five open dates in 5A is absolutely brutal. It’s even worse when you are a good program because no one will play you. Forcing six open dates on Catholic, Central, and Zachary is borderline criminal
It’s going to be those three and the LP schools next year.

55 running clocks this week - all of the forfeits would very likely have been running clock.

We missed it because we lost in overtime last week and blew a 10 point lead with 5 minutes left last night…

Higgins beats EJ 8-7 to finish an 0-10 season for EJ after winning district and a playoff game last year
Posted on 11/8/25 at 5:23 pm to chalmetteowl
Cohen beats Sarah Reed 40-8 and that’s it for the regular season…

Absolutely. Been very impressed by the job the new coach has done so far. WM actually looks like a contender again. I don’t think it will be this year but they should be back in the dome soon
Coach D'Micheal has been a pleasant surprise, as has the assistant coaches AND most importantly, the players on the field.
Don't sleep on WM this season, all 3 losses for WM were very close games. They could have went the other way.
There is a lot of potential at WM. I doubt we will see the success that Coach Don Shows and Coach Jerry Arledge had though.
WM has been losing good solid players to other local schools the last few years. This may stem the tide and get players fired up again about the WM football program.
If the power ratings at LSL hold, WM is going to have the 10 seed at the bottom of the playoff bracket.
WM potentially could get another chance at Neville in the playoffs. But they are going to have to win the game in front of them next Friday night.

Without the split Sumner wouldn’t even have to consider facing LCA. There is always someone in the way. Champs find a way thru them.

I saw that Pine Praire scored a grand total of SIX points all season.
They were shutout nine times, but at least they showed up to play all ten games on their schedule.

Like I said the 4A Baseball team I follow that is forced to play in D1 has now had 2 seasons that they would have hosted 1-2 rds in D2 with the other 4A schools not make the playoffs at all.
It only affects a handful of schools but kids have been fricked out of opportunities.

West Monroe will change up their signals before the rematch.

That works both ways… there are four 4A teams in our bracket that didn’t have to play who we played to get there
