lsupride, that view doesn't show what the official that threw the flag had, plus it's elevated. his was field level and from the end zone angle. In other words, it's the angle he had that matters. looks like he made his case to the white hat on what he had. Some of that stuff looks very different from ground level. He very well could have had D restricting / grabbing O player and you can't see it from this angle. and I don't defend or condemn, i just give plausible reasons for how it happen or happens. For awhile you can't see db hands though

I've seen the hudl and both teams broadcasts and it would be nice to have video from south end zone, but I haven't seen that.

Dude you lose credibility when ylu don’t just say “they completely blew it” on plays like this

Hardly, I'm telling it like it is. Neither of us have the view the field official had end of story. Their is no point on me commenting on this angle. players, coaches, officials, announcers and even ball boys make mistakes in games it's part of being human. yes i have seen a ball boy sink a team(long story).

Kinda looks like the defender is shielding with his left arm, but it's such bad quality that I can't tell for sure, looks minimal, but again it's not uhd

While we are on refs, I saw one of the worst calls ever last night at EDW-STM game. STM DB climbed back of WR and returned int for TD. Flag was thrown immediately. Players kinda stopped during play.
Crew gets together, and picks up the flag! No explanation. Didn’t really affect outcome……but was an embarrassment.

well a flag doesn't end a play. I doubt seriously the coach didn't get an explanation on that, almost every "crew discussed call" leads to an explanation.

What does it mean when an official throws his hat?

I get that. But it was so obvious and the flag was thrown immediately.

Someone on Facebook said that LCA had 200+ yards in penalties and a TCHS fan chimed in and said not to blame the refs. It was a well officiated game and that he needed blame LCA'S "undisciplined" team.

He fired back with...I guess if they were more disciplined, they would have dropped 100 instead of just 68

one just like it in LSU game recently and i think the flag was picked up too.

if the db doesn't push, shove, pull or restrict and is going for the ball.

i'm digging for a better angle than this, though. edit, just saw this on hudl - if you have hudl or vsn you can see what it was or wasn't pretty clearly.

or they are out of flags on a play and have another foul.

as long as i don't lose money doing it, I'm good. I'm still giving back to something that I've gotten so much from. Plus conditioning year round keeps me in light years better shape than many my age so, there is that.

Another bonus is showing up for a game and both coaches being damned glad to see me and my tribe.

It is sort of rewarding, isn't it?

I remember the first time I had a coach say "I'm glad to see you guys," I looked around to see who he was talking to.

Just off a fuzzy memory, two holding calls, a couple of substitution infractions, four defensive PI, two facemask, late hit out of bounds, roughing the passer, sideline infraction, and two dead ball personal fouls.

You can add those up. There were more though.

Bottom line you don’t throw the flag on a play like that in a game like that. They ended up scoring a few plays later following kickoff dropped and scored a few plays after that. None of this happens if the bullshite flag was not thrown
