I was at the LCA- Teurlings game and I'd like to know how many penalty yards LCA racked up. Seems like every other play the refs were throwing flags.
I was there & it was absurd. Example: Tuerlings players were taunting an injured LCA player and the LCA trainer has to physically get herself in between the LCA kid on the ground & the TCHS players. No flag on TCHS. LCA player makes a great play & deflects a pass... the ref is right there, count to 5 then the flag comes out for PI. TCHS player comes up swinging on an LCA player: offsetting penalties but LCA gets tagged with a 15 yd unsportsmanlike. It was BS all night.

Did you enjoy the random clock stoppages in favor of Teurlings as well? I counted three.

Pretty insane right? There were some guys sitting around us that were LHSAA refs whose season had ended. At the beginning of the game they were explaining the calls, by the end they were yelling at the refs on the field!

Seems like every time LCA made a good play, five second delay....flag.
Someone on LCA made a huge hit on a kickoff, led with his should and popped the TCHS player....flag.
I also don't know that the BS was when they called a penalty on LCA and the ref went over to explain it to Trev and they threw another flag on top of that for sideline interference.

They got beat by Ouachita that year.

recruits/scholarships.
Tuition waivers are effectively the same exact thing as "scholarships."

Need Brewerton or Weiner to come “home”…. shite, I’d even take Sid. He at least coached at CHS years ago
I played with the first two and for Sid my freshman year. Brew, Sid and Neil (in that order) would be my options the next coaching search. I have zero insider info, but I’m sure Brew and Neil had to have been approached before.

Weiner out coached Martin. He changed the culture. Our boys expect to win.
This... Uhigh had much much more talent than Dunham (other than the QB position). Uhigh kids overlooked this game all week. The qb played injured, couldn't throw and should've never started the game. When the first 4 passes sailed high over the receiver's head it was clear Uhigh would be completely one dimensional but the coaches wouldn't make a change to the very capable backup. The one decent pass he threw all night was headed to the endzone but the receiver fumbled at the 1. The defensive plan was also garbage. It looked like the Uhigh coaches didn't watch one second of film on the dunham qb and expected him to sit back and take sack after sack like Manning did. Awful awful coaching job by Uhigh all the way around.
With all that said I'm really happy for my Dunham friends and their kids. They played extremely hard and smart. I think they'll win it easily in the dome. Uhigh should be back in the mix again next year.

75% of the team against Parkview was either out with the flu or playing with it. Dunham’s offensive and defensive lines man handled Uhigh. Without Moses it wouldn’t have been close
You could say the same about Dunham and their QB. He was a one man show running and throwing the ball. Take him away, and you could say it’s not close.

Believe what you want but zero recruits/scholarships. It is possible to do it the right way.
Dunham recruits. If you don’t want to believe it that’s fine. Doesn’t mean they are inherently breaking the rules. Many of their kids would be at Catholic for example and the reasons are opportunities to play quicker and play multiple sports They also go out and look for kids on the outskirts of the parish (s) ..
None of that takes away from the job they’ve done this year or the program they’ve built

If Dunham doesn't recruit, they better start soon or the success won't be sustainable. College caliber QB's don't drop in your lap year after year from out of state. They only had about 20 players on 7th & 8th grade team, Uhigh had 55 and beat them by 7 touchdowns.
Gonna be a fun rivalry going forward.

I’ll stand by what I posted earlier in that I was told 2-3 years ago they were benefitting from both UHigh and CHS having to scale back on their recruiting.
For years, Dunham’s been on par with Episcopal, who has had a nice playoff team the last two years for their level. They play toe to toe with CHS in preseason, spank Episcopal 42-0, and as one Dunham parent says, dominated UHigh last night but for 1 future 5 star player in. K Moses.
Sounds like Dunham found themselves some players.

Brewerton has always been a tough get.. it was mentioned to me that he was disappointed that he wasn’t approached after Wiener retired but ultimately the money and retirement with Zachary is a tougher hill to climb than people realize

And they seem to be tugging at the same players some of which have been talking about switching schools from what the kids claim.. one of the odd quirks of modern social interaction is how kids from all these schools talk .. I think that some of dunhams 8th graders played up this year at the high school level thus the blowout.
The one uhigh advantage that isn’t really discussed and isn’t sports related IMO as they really push for the kids to be older and thus they mature sooner. This is from kindergarten on… so it’s not the old hood an 8th grader back from years past

Agreed, House played like he was possessed last night.
