So what is the general consensus on the new Head Coach? I know the Rebels have had a bit of a rough go this year, but look to be competitive as always. Is Charpentier doing a good job so far?

Seems to be good. Had a brutal schedule this year and injuries.
Plenty of energy and excitement from within the program.

Yes A lot of good people there. And I have no doubt Dane will be very successful and there for a very long time

De La Salle at #1 seems pretty suspect to me. Weren't they really highly ranked and undefeated last year only to get steamrolled by a pretty average Parkview team?

That average Parkview team went to the Dome.

Parkview Baptist at #17 St. Thomas More

3rd year in a row these 2 meet in the playoffs.

They have squared off in the Dome the last 2 years with each team winning a title.

The rubber match this Friday in Laffy will be epic.

That will be epic, I got to see PB take on Southern Lab earlier in the season on TV. Southern Lab had some hosses, and I was very impressed with PB keeping it close and winning in the end. Good ball club and good tradition of winning.

They were still average. They lost to just about anyone with a pulse and got blown out by 30 in the dome.

Division IV

Catholic PC and Cedar Creek are 2 best teams. Think they will play in Dome. VC is overrated this year and so is St Ed’s.

playing JC to a one possession game is well above average.

Well said. That clown either got passed over for the head coaching gig or he’s just bitter someone he knows isn’t playing.
He lost me at “kids don’t watch film”. What a fool.

A very huge understatement! Brutal isn’t the word. Whomever made that schedule did Dane no favors.

#5 West Monroe at Dutchtown

West Monroe starts slow but starts to roll in the third quarter and pulls away for the win.

quote:

#16 Barbe at Destrehan

I smelling a little upset here, Barbe has only played two good teams this year and lost to one, Acadiana. Desty pulls off the upset.

Airline at #13 St. Amant
STA only loss is to a decent team in Dutchtown and plays a good Airline team but St Amant wins.

quote:

#22 John Ehret at #9 Zachary

An intriguing match up. Ehret probably has the better athletes but Zachary seems to have better coaching. Zachary for the win.

quote:

#15 Landry Walker at #10 Acadiana

Probably the best game this week. LW has the horses and Acadiana has the huge OL plus the good coaching. Wrecking Rams win.

quote:

#23 East Ascension at Live Oak

Live Oak pulls of the upset of Sulphur last week and is the Cinderella story in 5A. EA has beat some good teams this year but the Cinderella story at Live Oak continues for another . Live Oak wins in a close one.

quote:

#24 Hahnville at #21 Ruston

Another interesting matchup. Hahnville has had some success this year and has a great RB in Pookie Williams. Ruston has been in a few dog fights this year and played some pretty tough competetion like Neville, Acadiana, West Monroe. This one of the best teams Ruston has had in a long time. Plus Ruston is at home. Gotta go with Ruston.

quote:

Ouachita at #14 Covington

The battle of the Lions. Covington has one of the top RBs in the state along with good QB. Ouachita has the athletes and has played some strong competition, got into a dog-fight with West Monroe a couple weeks ago and lost by one point.
My heart says to go with Ouachita but Covington pulls out the win in the last few minutes.

I hope nobody buys the bullshite you're selling buddy. Everything about your post is a lie. It's okay if you don't like those guys, but they do work hard and they do prepare the kids for success. And if you feel that strongly about it, go tell Dane what you think in person. But I'm sure that's not your style!

Agree to disagree. They played jc close but still lost. I caught every single Parkview game. They were way down from the prior year. Yes they beat the teams they were supposed to beat but that was about it. They were also really deficient at qb.

I’m biased a bit but I’ll disagree. I think Lafayette Christian will beat CPC tonight. But I do think whoever wins that game will play in the Dome vs Cedar Creek. VC is good but only beat LCA 10-9 on a last second field goal after LCA lost their starting QB to an ACL tear in the first quarter. LCA’s defense has not allowed more that 2 offensive scores in a game this year. And LCA top running back should be returning from injury tonight.

Should be a great game tonight.
