North Vermilion is 4A, while Abbeville and the rest of VP is 3A?

Why are you shocked they still have 5A enrollment numbers. Pretty easy to see why they left them there.
Their enrollment will be way down next year when Southside fills all four grades for the first time.

They are already projected to be overfilled so they will probably redraw the school zones to put some back into Comeaux.

With the split would anyone be opposed to LA going back down to 4 classifications. I know through my folks thats what it was a while back, but looking over these new districts it seems like that could be the only way publics would go for making it more competitive.
Lot of old and new rivalries could be formed and travel would be surely reduced a ton. Has this been brought up since the split or no shot with the everybody gets a trophy version, no way to go back.

I don't know the geography up there
Clearly, Shreveport to Monroe (~99 miles) is 10 miles farther than Baton Rouge to Slidell(~90 miles). About 3 miles shorter than Lafayette to Houma (~102 miles).

There is a huge disparity between the large 5A schools and smaller 4A schools in enrollment. It would really be unfair.

My brother’s kids go there so I have a pretty good beat on that athletic department and it’s pretty ridiculous just how blatant the recruiting is there.
It’s no different than any other competitive private. Though it is more athletics centric now than it was just a few years ago. Tell me which Div 1 recruits they have playing for them?
The change in the football program is mostly because of an aggressive and disciplined defensive philosophy brought there by Trev Faulk. Look back to his first year (2016) and the 2 before that.
I’m on my second kid about to graduate from there. This one is not an athlete. The first was but not a very skilled one, poor kid has my genetics.
All I got :

fricking Landry-Walker, Karr, Warren Easton, and Cox all in one district
That shite’s like the SEC South
Belle Chasse ain't no slouch either. That district is a murderer's row

BC actually has a prettty good defense.. I was at the game when they played Karr, and the cougars had trouble moving the ball... Belle Chasse has a great playmaker in Ralph Jones but their offense outside of him is garbage though

Then the lowest 4A enrollment would be dropping down to 3A in the 4 class split
Also what is the huge difference between Class C and Class B.
Edit just checked Class C is 114> Below, while Class B is 116-245. But 1A is 249 and below? I am sure somebody can explain the historical relevance or who in charge had the infinite wisdom to make Class B and 1A virtually the same but call it different and split it up. After going to HS in Ms there are very few things that MS does better but this is one of them.

Class A has football, Class B does not. Beyond that, they are the same. The next step up for a non-football class B school is AA.

Minden and North Desoto are not Shreveport schools.

Kenner Discovery is a high school too? And has a football team?

Apparently that wasn't an issue in 2A, because Ascension Episcopal and Houma Christian are in the same district, 96 miles and over 1.5 hours away from one another.

I wonder how they manage travel in some of the small population western states like Wyoming and Montana.
