LCA won their quarterfinal game 88-18

Split is a joke and has completely ruined LA HS athletics

So is Walker...Walker has beaten a lot of really good teams this year including Madison Prep and Westgate.

Look for Red River to possibly give Rayville fits in the semi finals. North Caddo will destroy Avoyelle Public Charter. Should be a great week of basketball!

I believe this is Episcopal's fourth straight appearance. Never enough talent to win the whole thing especially with Riverside in the same division.

Rayville was a little sluggish in their quarterfinal game, an only won by 8. I’m sure that got their attention.

What type of style does Red River bring to the table?

Rayville is undefeated, but for some reason the Rayville vs Riverside game didn’t count in the power rankings nor is even acknowledged by the LHSAA.

Stm beat Carencro twice and beat westgate once and are ranked below them. Those ratings are trash

Red River is big for a 2A team and has one shooter and one good guard who can get to the basket. They do press the whole game but do a nice job of not allowing too many fast break points. On offense they like to slow it down and run different plays but they also can run with teams too. They rebound really well. If there freshmen guard is on hitting his 3’s it could be a really good game. I say Rayville wins by 10 in a game thats close til the end. Rayvilles experience is going to play a huge role in this game plus Red River would need to play their best game of the year to pull the big upset!

I believe the Rayville-Riverside game was labled as a HALL OF FAME game so it didnt count towards either teams records.

Rayville was beating them by 20 at one point. When Rayville decides to focus and play together they are unbeatable, period.

Riverside has zero business being ahead of them in any poll. Red River may match up, but they better have more guard play than one guy. They arent going to win pressing Rayville. Need to slow it down and make them earn everything in half court setting. Red River needs to shoot a good percentage and get to the free throw line.

I agree! And guard play definitely isn’t a strong point for Red River and they won’t back out of press just their style. But I agree with you a press is not what you should be doing against Rayville.

Rayville was out of sync the whole game. First time I’ve watched them when their shots weren’t falling and had to struggled thru a game. They never trailed but it was just shear althleticism that carried them thru. Not much in the way of offensive adjustments or coaching. Hopefully they got that out of their system.

I've seen Walker a few times this year. They are the real deal. Athletic, can shoot, and are very well coached.

How well attended are these 11:30 am weekday games? Seems unfair to the kids.

I think one of Riversides starters missed that game because he was on a recruiting trip for football. I don't think it would have even mattered had he been there though. Rayville is really really good. No way they get upset in the top 28.
