The thing is, every class back in January voted against reuniting... Coaches and principals like the easier playoffs to get into. I dont think they care what fans want (and some fans do like the split for making it easier for their teams)

Looks like they did away with the 6A talk, now what will be voted on in January will be 5A and 4A reconciled and privates back with publics, 3A and 2A privates together, 1A privates, and then 3A, 2A, and 1A publics in their split brackets still. That would give them 7 brackets.

To me this makes the most sense. However I still believe there should be an option to let teams play up if they'd like.

Thoughts:

1) Get the Southwest Prep Conference in TX/OK to expand to LA and add Evangel and Curtis.

2) If they want to do a split, do a honest to goodness split. Create three classes for private schools and three classes for public schools. Public and private schools can play each other in non-district play only. Districts will stay in the classes. Does that hurt travel for public schools? Collateral damage.

3) 6A is insane. If they want to do a "federation" class that sets its' own rules, make that class 5A.

You may say that the quality of football will be all in the private leaque, but Louisiana would be the first state where that was the case.

We were also the first state to force private schools into a separate division.

If the private schools split, every sport in urban public schools outside of football and basketball will be gone.

now there are a growing number of principals that think their schools will GAIN students if there is a total split. meaning kids will go back to some public schools rather than play in the LAA

Have none of these principals every considered the possibility that the privates will simply offer scholarships to public school athletes if the privates are no longer under the thumb of the LHSAA?

Additionally, there will be a vote to disallow any school that sues the LHSAA to participate in championships the following year

This quite the post! Thought - provoking, on the surface it seems eminently "possible" and could make for some interesting results.

It makes way too much sense for the LHSAA ever to consider it.

tell those parents the football team will be badass and they won't mind a few here and there...

i'm gonna think outside the box and wonder why the districts have to be about the same for every sport. why can't Curtis play 5A in football and 3A in everything else? it's not like they're saving money by having a basketball game and wrestling in the same gym on the same night...

Just how small IS your penis compared to the average athlete at WM?

Many of the parents of theregular students who can easily afford it don't. That's why they're going to private schools. But they don't mind bringing in a few of "them" on scholarship, but just enough to win sporting events.

Yes, I know all of the parents don't feel that way. I recognize that some do it for religious reasons.

If you went 6A just by pure numbers and no "playing up," it would be highly likely that teams like Parkway, Ruston, Ouachita, Central, Rummel, and maybe East St. John and Catholic would stay in 5A.

But hey, Lafayette High would move to 6A! Bonnabel and Walker too!

Obsession? I think it's fairly obvious who has the obsession about West Monroe's athletes. And it ain't me.

Just trying to help my buddy understand the situation by relating an unfamiliar situation with a familiar one. You obviously got the correlation .

Going back to your post, is Belton eligible since he went to school in West Monroe since 3rd grade? Since he's been at WMHS since 9th grade, which is what you said was the necessary requirement, is that why the LHSAA ruled him good to go?

Calm down baby girls, i'm messing with yall. Yeah he's eligible because he attended a feeder but the LHSAA never ruled on JRB because nobody complained. JRB would be a special case, imo, because the residency/transfer rules clearly state you cant have dual residences if your a transfer but JRB isnt a transfer.

The kid at Parkway is a freshman and was turned in by Southwood. He didn't attend a Parkway feeder like JRB did with WM.
