Derrick died in a car accident. You are correct about Ricky though.

Ultimately this will have probably zero bearing on the postseason, which may be unfortunate. Destrehan will probably still be a top five team in power rankings after they finish the season 9-1 and they will probably still face inferior competition until the quarters. South Lafourche would still be in the playoffs anyway. Their power ranking might be higher and they might even pull a home game out of this.

Absolutely zero bearing on playoffs. That's a shame. Parkway has their incident that didn't involve players nor coaches and they have to play every playoff on the road. Where's the fairness?

Parkway's principal decided that SHE was bigger than the opposing team's coach or the LHSAA and had him arrested right on the middle of the farking field.

Not going to get a lot of sympathy for those kids from me on that one, especially since they've known for a year that this was going to happen.

The other four coaches, defensive coordinator Lance Ledet, Daniel Luquet, Wayne Sentilles and offensive coordinator Greg Boyne, are suspended the rest of the regular season and can coach only from the press box once the playoffs begin

The defensive coordinator developed a game plan against offensive sets and motions that were not on any "approved" game film, and Robicheaux doesn't notice? I would assume the offensive coordinator game planned based on defensive schemes he saw that would be employed against them, and once again Robicheaux is kept in the dark? He must be one dumb SOB! And the only people more stupid are the joke of an association called the LHSAA!

No different from our POTUS, every scandal that comes up he blames subordinates and says he was not aware......works well for him. FWIW, Robicheaux should be suspended without pay at a minimum or fired.

(from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office) – Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported that a Destrehan High School assistant football coach and his girlfriend have been charged after admitting they obtained access to a website without authorization and obtained information sensitive to the South Lafourche High School football program. Ryan Fournier (W/M, D.O.B. 12/12/83) and Emily Guidry (W/F, D.O.B. 05/14/84), both of 153 James Street in Larose, were charged on Wednesday, October 30 following an interview with detectives.

Detectives began investigating after officials with the Lafourche Parish Public School Board informed the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office of the allegations that members of the Destrehan coaching staff accessed video of South Lafourche football practice through a website called, www.hudl.com without authorization. The website is used by some teams, including South Lafourche, to store information online such as team playbooks, practice film and schemes.

Through investigation, detectives learned Fournier and Guidry had obtained login credentials to access the information on the website from a South Lafourche student, who is also a former football player. Detectives brought Fournier and Guidry in for questioning on the matter on Wednesday, and during questioning, they both admitted to their roles in the incident. Fournier also admitted to utilizing the information he had obtained during Destrehan’s 49-24 win over South Lafourche High School on Friday, October 25.

Fournier and Guidry were both charged with Offenses against Intellectual Property (R.S. 14:73.2), and each was issued a criminal summons. Penalties for the first offense of this crime include a fine of not more than $500.00 or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.

Detectives say the investigation into this matter is continuing.

Calling for the Destrehan head coach to nut up and admit his involvement. News for the head coach - there are still two IP addresses out there that have yet been tied to physical addresses. Coach, you better hope the Lafourche Parish School Board calls off the dogs or save yourself and come forward with an admittance of guilt before it is too late

Was Destrehan so afraid of SL they had to resort to cloak and dagger tactics?

SL is the second best team in the district. They were beating East St John until ESJ threw a TD pass with no time remaining. Also nearly beat Landry/Walker.

That was without their starting RB and best offensive weapon. All their loses came when he was hurt, they haven't lost since he came back.

Plus they were playing down the bayou. You have to expect you're going to get some calls against you when you playing down there.

“If I have to make a ruling, I’ll rely on our handbook to make those rulings and advise me in that matter,” Henderson said. “This particular case is not brought up in black-and-white in the handbook, and so I’m going to have to follow the book to see where I’m going to hit with that. If we treat it as a sportsmanship, then I’m going to be looking at what the handbook says about sportsmanship, and we’ll go from there.”

Kenny Henderson is an idiot.

Has anyone in this thread mentioned that SL is stupid for not having protocols in place to remove staff/players who no longer should have access to the system? Destrehan is obviously wrong here and there is no qualification for that. But whoever runs the show at SL might want to do a better job managing his program.

This is unique. I'm sure most coaches didn't believe something like this would happen. I mean really the lack of integrity it takes for someone to do this is hard to imagine. I'm sure they'll all tighten up the reigns now.

Here's Jay Roth's quotes about HUDL.

Rummel Coach Jay Roth only puts practice and game film on the program, but he said the program isn’t fool proof.

“We’ve left former coaches and former players on there for over a year sometimes,” Roth said. “We hadn’t changed the password or deleted them. It’s a great system, but you really got to be aware of who has access to your film and who doesn’t.

“When we first had the system, we had kids in college still looking at our games and practices.”

Coach Skains and many other coaches will learn a valuable lesson from this! But if he is "stupid" because he didn't have a protocol in place to remove users, I guarantee he has a lot of company in this state. It is still fairly new technology and many coaches around the state will be rethinking how they manage these accounts. But the main focus should remain on blatant cheating admitted by several coaches, a head coach who HAS to be lying about having no knowledge of it, and an organization (LHSAA) of very well paid "good ole boys" who handed down a pitifully weak punishment. If I ever get convicted of a serious crime, I would pray that the penalty decision would fall in the hands of the LHSAA!

SL administration was very kind to the LHSAA in their statement after the penalties were handed down. BJ Guzzardo did everything in his power to try and stop this from being uncovered. The LHSAA did nothing to help with the investigation as it was all done by the SL Administration and the Lafourche Parish School Board office.

The head coach HAD to know what was going on and if he didn't he should terminate each of those assistant coaches for placing him in this position. If he does not request the St. Charles School Board terminate these 5 coaches, then he was in on it.

I graduated high school with Ryan Fournier. What a dumbass to do this to your alma mater and Joe probably have your coaching career ruined. I guess he was that pissed off that he got turned down twice for the hea coach gig.
