They said batter interfered with the catcher on a stolen base attempt. It was the 3rd out in the bottom of the 7th. I couldn’t tell. Runner was safe at 2nd. I didn’t go back and look at it again.
Batter squared to bunt, pulled it back, never moved his feet or leaned over the plate. It’s hard to even imagine what the umpire thought he saw.

What should have happened is there should have been a conference. And if the home plate guy swears by that call, it stands and he bears the brunt of the criticism.

It's a judgment call. A really bad one.

I always got told, if the batter is in the box, it can’t be interference

Pretty sure even a movement within the box that impedes the catcher can be considered interference, being out of the box just takes away most of the gray area. But again in this case the only movement was the act of pulling the bat back. Maybe the umpire thought the bat being pulled back impeded the catcher as he was gaining ground toward the plate for the throw? Still seems like a stretch but I don’t know what else he could have seen.

It’s on YouTube if someone can gif it.

doesnt matter. inside the box the batter has teh right to pull the bat back. wtf he supposed to do....take the strike. i havent seen it but sounds like an absolute shite show of a call imo.

#2 Neville loses to #15 South Terrebonne, classic coach Guerrerio blowing it in the playoffs couldn't tell you how many times at St. Fred's he had a top team in the state and blew it. Miracle he ever won one at Neville.

St. Michael(11) swept Evangel(6) in 2 games up in Shreveport. Walk-off 3 run HR in bottom of 7th in game 2.

I thought that was correct, but again that clearly didn’t happen in this case. Hopefully someone who was there and heard the explanation will eventually chime in.

I've been waiting for someone to mention this series

The Hines kid had himself a day. Pitched first game win, adding a solo and 3-run HR in Game 1

Then comes up bot 7 w 2 outs and 2 on down by 2 and hits walkoff series clincher in Game 2

South Terrebonne is no joke though. They were a colossal extra inning choke against North Vermillion away from the finals last year.

You have a South Lafourche/South Terrebonne quarters. Boudreaux vs. Thibodeaux. Probably the two major schools hit hardest by Ida.

North Vermilion on to the next round. Took both games from Eunice.
Country boys with their 35th win this season.

Have a potential upset brewing in D1. St. Aug beat Brother Martin 8-7 in Game 1 tonight. St. Aug was up 8-1 going into the bottom of the 7th, starter came out with 1 out and bases loaded, and the wheels almost fell off. Walk after walk, and then St. Aug was able to pull it off.
