Congrats to West Ouachita from a Tarpon fan. They outpitched and outhit SL today. If their defense plays well they could win it all.

Barbe won game 2. 9-2 Barbe advances to the semi-finals vs Central or Zachery.

3 3-5A teams in the semi-finals shows its the district to beat.

Congrats to the tarpons on a great season. Think I heard someone say this year was their first playoff victory and they got 4 of them.

Thanks. Yeah, 27 wins and 4 playoff wins broke the school records of 19 and none. 10 of the top 11 players were seniors. It was a historic season by our standards.

Benton took 2 of 3 at Breaux Bridge.

Game 1 - Benton 7-0
Game 2 - BB 5-3 - 11 innings
Game 3 - Benton 5-3 9 innings.

20 innings in one day.

we have had in the past, yes.

Now when was the last time they have done anything meaningful? No disrespect. We can agree to disagree but Chalmette baseball is and has been in shambles for a while.

we've been in shambles one year basically... i'm not calling the team that beat the Catholic League champs in round 1 John Curtis "shambles", or a team that won 27 games, or a team that nearly knocked off a 3 seed. 5A is tough. Of course we're not gonna put up playoff runs like we were in 3A.

we all know when someone says "no disrespect", they mean to disrespect lol

Great facility but not a great team
i agree. St. Bernard rec has been mismanaged since Hurricane Katrina

Curtis is the only Nola area team that has a chance of playing impressive baseball.
NOLA also has Holy Cross and St. Paul's also alive in the state tournament

I guess it’s safe to assume that if Zach Von Rosenburg’s brother was never hired as assistant coach at Zachary then Zachary would still be without a state title in their school’s history?

All games being at home helped a lot too. I agree with the new rule. You earned it throughout the year.

12 different championships sucks. 4A semis shouldn't be starting at 10 AM. Either have different sites or combine public and private like it used to be. Most of the time they still played at different sites when there were only 7 titles.

Eta: don't get me wrong all games at one site makes for a great weekend of baseball. I just don't wanna leave the house at 7 AM Saturday if WO makes it to the title. Championship is still at 11:30.

You’ll have to stand down the line to see anything btw. A lot of obstructed views in Sulphur.

We went 2 years ago when we lost to Teurlings and thats what we did. Stood up top of the bleachers down the line and we could see pretty much everything except right down the line. Could turn around and see most of what's going on on the field right beside it too. I like the atmosphere with so many big games going on. Just wish 4A drew better game times this year i guess. Should be fun. I think WO/Benton will be the defacto championship but you never know. Thought WM had it in the bag last year.

The more I look at the brackets the split is ridiculous. There's a 31 seed that went 11-21 with a mediocre schedule in the semis in 4A. That shouldn't happen.

Pitcher that beat them did it again this weekend to #1 seed Zachary and has his team back. Southeastern got a helluva pitcher in Huss.
