well the steelers are valuing him to be at least close to 15 to be worthy of the tag.

Yeah, for this single season.

Way different than committing to that yearly salary contract for multiple years for a guy who is one failed drug test away from a season long suspension.

Plus, I don’t think they have any issue with spending the money now because their Super Bowl window is pretty small and immediate.

I dont care about positions. Watkins doesnt compare to Bell.

You don't care that receivers typically last longer in the NFL than running backs? Because I'm sure the Steelers care about that. The issue isn't how much to pay him this year, it's the guaranteed money that he wants to make when he probably won't be worth close to that.

If he believes he's worth all of this money, then he should just bet on himself and play on 1 year contracts the rest of his career.

He's nuts. He's gonna be able to keep up this 400+ touch production for 2 more seasons before it's a cliff.

So you think the all-pro punter should make more than the 12th best QB?
Well this isn't an exact comparison. LeVeon is used far, far more in the offense than any other player on the damn roster. He should be the 2nd highest paid player on the team imo

Enjoy your one year deals, Le'Veon.

I think I remember seeing something that over the last 3 years the Steelers points per game is the same with or without Bell

whoopity doo.

I'd rather see the steelers record with and without Bell.

Even Kirk Cousins wasn't asking for more than double what the next highest paid QB gets.

FYI, Devonta Freeman is the highest paid running back at $8.25 mil a year.

It could be argued that Bell is A LOT more valuable than Freeman.

But Le'Veon doesn't want 1 year deals and people think it's not fair that he has to play on a one year deal.

I mean he definitely is, but is he worth twice as much? Steelers could draft a RB and use Bell's money to get two top tier linemen. They would probably be a better team by doing just that.

I included ppg because I thought that showed a RB value more than simple wins and losses, but anyway, here is the win loss record

quote:

“Since 2013, the Steelers are 10-7 in regular-season games without Bell, 11-9 if the playoffs are included,” Fittipaldo writes. “They were 0-3 without Bell in 2013 when he missed the first three games of the season with a foot injury. Since then, they’ve been much better. In 2015, they were 8-4 (playoffs included) sans Bell and 3-1 last season (2016).”

Does that scream being worth more than double the next running back in the nfl?

Hasn’t he said he’s fine retiring? If so, then he does have the leverage.

It’s his choice, and if the toll of playing in the NFL is in his mind 17 mill then he can ask for it
