I was going to post that.

October is a bit of a grind...

Compare that with Wisconsin's schedule:

Damn, they could lose every single conference game.

Just the kind of schedule you want while in the middle of rebuilding...

The giant conferences have created extremely unequal conference scheduling

Badgers fans will be getting restless, maybe Ewers is eyeing Wisconsin as his destination which might attract other transfer like maybe a WR or two. I am really hoping that they can get it turned around this season but that schedule is fricking brutal.

We need a helluva transfer QB.

Frankly, with a decent QB this season wouldn't have looked so bad. Locke was so bad in some games you could see the defense just quit because they knew they had no chance. eta-And since he played so much people forget he was the backup.

We may have been the first "Air Raid" team ever to have the box stacked against the run.

A good QB will at least get us to a bowl next year. While October is brutal, there's 8 wins in there.

The elite teams are always going to have a weak schedule, because they're not playing themselves.

I didn’t realize Locke was so bad.

When he was at state a few years ago he looked good in the spring games/practice

Pretty sure he had the most batted passes in P4. Consistently threw behind receivers.

He looked good against the dregs of the conference but was terrible against teams with a pulse.

His WRs having a lot of drops didn't help, but many of those were much tougher catches than they should have been due to his inaccuracy.

I've never seen so many passes hit the DL in the head.

Tbh it's not that bad. At Penn State is almost guaranteed to be a tough matchup.
There's no telling with Indiana. I expect them to take some steps back. But then again, not a single soul on the entire planet expected Indiana to make the playoffs this year, so who knows.

Iowa, Wisconsin, and Washington all had disappointing seasons. But all 3 have been been really good teams in recent seasons. So I don't know if it's a foregone conclusion they will be cupcakes next year.

As for USC. They have been bad the last 2 seasons. But at the same time, Lincoln Riley has made the CFP 3 different times. He very could have USC bounce back.

The Big Ten really only has one other program on Oregon’s level in Ohio State on a consistent year to year basis.

It would probably be very smart for the Big Ten to make sure that Oregon Ohio State play almost every year.

Michigan and Penn State are dependent year to year and then you have USC, Washington and maybe Nebraska that could put it together with a competent coach.

They play two OSUs next year and neither of them are Ohio St. Honestly if they fail to make the playoff, that alone should be enough to justify a hot seat for Lanning, with the unlimited NIL resources he has at his disposal... I can't even see the worst coaches fricking that up.

They might play one whole ranked team next year in PSU.

SC could be quite tough next year. Historically, losing a bunch of one score games in a year is a predictor for a big jump the next year.

They are sitting there at 18th in FPI, 26th in Sagarin, 20th in FEI, 33rd in Massey Composite, etc. That was probably about a 9 - 3 team this year that just couldn't get out of their own way.

Not saying that much, but I thought they were unequivocally the second-best team we played this year by the time we played them. They found something in Maiava.

I'd bet they are in the top 15 - 20 next year and potentially in the mix for the playoffs.
