when Shareff came to LSU y’all don’t think Shaq picked up the phone???

When Shareff was in high school did Shaq announce to the world that his son can go to any program in the country if he made a phone call?

Nope. This is what Shaq said when asked about his son's recruitment

quote:

"This is sort of deja vu to me," Shaquille O'Neal said on ESPN at the Hoophall Classic in January about his son's recruitment. "My father never said you should do this, you should do that. So I'm gonna let him make his decision. LSU, Kentucky, Arizona. He's getting a lot of letters. A couple of weeks ago, he got his book with all his letters, I got my book with all my letters. It's a great feeling. But I'm gonna let him make the final decision."

I've seen the kid play live numerous times and he is vastly overrated. Although I will say I have not seen him play this year

Anthony Davis: Which schools offered Bronny a scholarship?

Lebron: USC, Ohio State and Oregon

Is Anthony impressed by the quality and quantity of schools?

Would Anthony be impressed by Lebron's comments that he can/will help his son?

Is Lebron feeling pressure that Bronny ain't getting all the love?

Something may be factual but also distasteful to say publicly. This is one of those things. That’s like a rich kid’s father saying “he just needs to tell me where he wants to work and I can get him a job there”
He’s a top-35 recruit and (top 30 in 2/4 main recruiting sites), and a McDonald’s all-American. Whatever he means, it’s nothing like some rich dude or Aunt Becky using their money and/or influence to get an undeserving student into a university, at least from a basketball perspective.

And I saw (not added below) an on3 graphic earlier listing the top-10 players by NIL value, and Bronny was #1 at $7.5 million which was > twice Arch Manning at #2. (Don’t think it’s coincidence both come from famous families).

So a top 30-35 player and All-American is already going to almost assuredly have the opportunity to go wherever he wants. But if he’s worth much more money because of his name, then that not only makes this much more true, it confirms what LeBron was saying.

"I think Bronny can go to any college he wants to," LeBron said an interview with The Oregonian. "All I have to do is pick up the phone. If Bronny says he wants to go there, he's good enough."

Saying “All I have to do is pick up the phone” isn’t great phrasing.

Saying he’s good enough at the end makes me think his intentions aren’t what they sound like but phrasing it that way makes people think you’re saying he can go anywhere he wants because he’s your son.

Which is probably true but not exactly the best implication for your son if you actually believe in him being good.

Honest question....if he was not LeBron's son do you think he'd be ranked that high. And I've asked the same of Arch. My perception is no neither would be.

Noticed that Bronny is the only undecided on the McDonald's AA rosters (which I'm sure he didn't deserve to make)...attention whoring to the max just like daddy.

He's simply the best.

Fun Fact: LeBron James has scored at least 10 points in over 1,000 straight games and counting, a streak that began over 15 years ago.

James' current streak is so long now that it has surpassed the amount of regular-season games Michael Jordan played in his entire career. The King is putting this one out of reach for good.

I wonder how he would feel if a white male made that comment! I doubt he would be very accepting.

You think NCAA athletes are actually to qualify academically? Even regular students don't have to anymore. Only way to meet diversity quotas.
