Agreed. Who honestly gives a flying frick?

I honestly don't care. Just thought it was funny.

You'd never in a million years hear Jordan or Kobe say this.

It's funny that these days people put more stock in what everyone says instead of performance. Lebron is the best in the game right now and has the potential to be the best ever. Lets just see how he finishes his career out. I agree Lebron doesn't have the attitude MJ or Kobe has, he has more of a Shaq type personality, but he does have the work ethic.

LeBron will be consensus GOAT after a few more MVPs and championship rings, which are both inevitable

Is as in present tense. King James will be the GOAT.

And you'd criticize Lebron if he would have said MJ wasn't the GOAT. The guy can't win in most of your eyes.

His career is not as good as Jordan's yet, and it's yet to be seen if he has the longevity Jordan did. That being said his peak right now in terms of pure dominance on a basketball court is right up there with any run Jordan had. At the very least he's already bitch slapped guys like Kobe, Pierce, and the Op's boy Durant out of his airspace

Realistically looking at it, Lebron will have to keep his level of play up for like five more years and win virtually every award in that time span.

The individual stats still favor Jordan. 2008 or 2009 is probably around where Lebron entered the stratosphere of Jordan on individual seasons, but he still has a lot of work to go.

To say Lebron is superior to a player who has superior statistics in nearly every possibly way at this point is simply foolish. Maybe in 5-7 years from now it will be different, but Lebron is potentially on his way to getting to Jordan. Anyone with a half a brain can see it is simply impossible to reach that level without playing out your entire career.

Kobe in 2005 and current Durant were/are sick as frick. Lebron is better, but not laughably better.

MJ would have never claimed someone else was better than him because he possessed the inner drive to be the GOAT unlike Lebron.

obviously lebron saying that is meaningless but this is actually true

LBJ is easily best current player. He's not even close to the best ever. Can he become that? Sure. But he's a got a shite load of championships, awards, and late playoff game winners to hit before he has any shot at sniffing Jordan's shoes.

Jordan said David Thompson was the best player he ever saw. I'm just saying.

Thompson was pretty awesome before he snorted his career away.

ESPN thinks this is news, for some reason.
