LeBron just said the NBA owners do a better job of treating the players as partners in developing the game as opposed to the NFL where the attitude is the players are just the hired help who don't have a stake in the league or the game and are easily disposable.

Thank goodness he has an interpreter like you or else he would look like an ignorant race baiter

As soon as I hear this shite from a highly paid black player, I just tune out.

Paychecks they generate from the work the players put in

Do the players lobby for tax dollars to build facilities? To market and sell tickets? To pay personnel to work security? To negotiate contracts with TV stations? Employee unions? Invest in Corporate citizenship programs ?

As far as I know, they just show up and play. They are a piece to a much larger effort to generate revenue. The players put in work to get a piece of that pie

His proof of this is what exactly?

quote:

This is my team. You do what the f--- I tell y’all to do. Or we get rid of y’all.

Apparently Ole GOAT James doesn't understand the American capitalist system and how businesses actually work which is quite disingenuous on his part since he's a Chairman/Owner of multiple businesses too

quote:

He doesn’t mind us having ... a real feeling and to be able to express that.

quote:

[Adam Silver]

Except he punishes you guys if you do anything during the National Anthem that isn't construed as respectful, selectively enforces the tampering rule, and compels you to wear suits and such on the sidelines, a true "beacon" of free expression

quote:

It doesn’t even matter if Adam agrees with what we are saying, he at least wants to hear us out.

That's even worse than management being straight up honest about policies and such, I want transparency and promulgation of hard policies not confusion like his description entails

quote:

As long as we are doing it in a very educational, non-violent way, then he’s absolutely okay with it.

Except during the National Anthem, no kneeling or doing whatever Chris Jackson did

quote:

the NBA [cares about] what we believe [a player] can be, the potential. In the NFL, it’s what can you do for me this Sunday or this Monday or this Thursday. And if you ain’t it, we moving on

His proof of this is what again? There's an anti-collusion article in the CBA, an article stipulating players' rights to medical care and treatment, workers' comp, injury protection, a stellar pension plan, the Gene Upshaw Health Account, and the NFL works consistently to benefit the community and schools, this dude is either so damn uneducated about shite or pulling a Saul Alinsky on young people, so disingenuous

Honest question for you: What sort of opposition to Lebron's patently absurd (and honestly insulting) statement would NOT constitute a "melt" in your book?
The statement isn’t absurd. No league values profit over the well-being of their players more than the NFL by a long shot. “Slave” doesn’t mean exactly “Person sold in the North American Slave trade as
a chattel.”

His statement is valid, and the backlash is all melt.

Is there a word or a term for people like this?

Bordering on mental retardation? I can guarantee that if Lebron took an IQ test he’d score no higher than 70. Guy is a certified dumb frick and his tweets read like he’s operating at a 3rd-4th grade level upstairs

It is asinine on its face, and clearly shows he has little understanding of both the realities of slavery and the way the business world works.

Stupid gotcha attempt. Showing the folly of his ignorant comments isn't "melting," and you know it, mijo.

Because the individual impact of players in the two sports is disparate due to the number of players comprising each team.

Not "white owners have a slave mentality."

Stop defending this dumb shite.

Oh sorry, seemed more like he was vilifying the NFL owners to me

Again, LeBron is lucky he has so many interpreters or else he might come off as someone that can not convey his thoughts very well

His comments conveniently leave out the biggest stars in the NFL, fair or not, the quarterbacks...a position that happens to be filled with white men.

That’s kind of racist,imo.
